Denis (pronounced Denny) Lalouette
Bass Player / Producer / Musical Director
Functional summary
I was born in Mauritius and started learning the guitar at the age of
eight; Emigrated to South Africa in 1970.I played the Drums from 1971
until I took up the Bass in 1974. After finishing High School,I turned
professional and played on all the regular club circuits, including
Durban, Cape Town, Swaziland, Botswana etc...
In 1980 I decided to settle in Johannesburg. To support my family, I began
doing music copying for the SABC and various musical directors. That kept
me going until I got into what I really wanted to do – Studio work.
I have been a freelance musician ever since (doing both live and studio
work), and I am very grateful to be called to do so many diverse projects,
and I still enjoy my carreer as much as ever...
