Counselor:

The human relations role in which a supervisor is an adviser and director to subordinates.

Educator:

The human relations role in which the supervisor is a builder of skills and a developer of potentials in subordinates.

Human Relations:

The development and maintenance of sound on-the-job relationships (educator, counselor, judge, spokesperson) with subordinates, peers, and superiors.

Judge:

The human relations role in which the supervisor enforces company policies and departmental rules and procedures, evaluates subordinates' performances, settles disputes, and dispenses justice.

Peer:

A person with the same level of formal authority and status in the organizational hierarchy as you.

Spokesperson:

The human relations role through which a supervisor represents management's views to workers and subordinates views to management.
