Hi. This is the character bio for both Yugi Motou
and his other self, who for the sake of sticking
with the American anime we'll call Yami. Why is
there a unicorn in the background? Don't ask
questions. Where did I get it? I'm not really

Yugi is a fun 16-year-year old with a real knack for games. In 8 years time, he completed the Millennium Puzzle, which unleashed "mou hitori no Yuugi," or "the Other Yugi." In the American anime his name is Yami. Yugi's a short, shy kid, who gets bullied a lot. In fact, Yugi's chief harrasser is actually Joey, until he defends Joey from an even worse bully named Ushio and Joey decides that Yugi is his friend.
Yami is Yugi's alter ego that comes out whenever Yugi needs to duel, or when it would make the scene dramatic for him to be there. He was trapped in the Millennium Puzzle for 3,000 years (or 5,000 in the American anime) and Yugi unleashed him. 3000/5000 years ago, he was Pharaoh of Egypt who sealed himself inside the Millennium Puzzle in order to prevent the end of the world. Unfortunately, he doesn't know this right away. When he sealed himself away, he lost all of his memories. More than anything, he wants to find out who he is.
