My Beowulf Page

Beowulf is a classic poem which was written down in English before the 10th century A.D., but it is about Beowulf, a Scandinavian warrior from the 6th century. In the epic, you will see a lot of references to Beowulf being a warrior "sent by God." This is hardly surprising, since from history, we are all well aware that, after the fall of the Roman empire, Christianity spread the belief in the one God of Israel into Denmark, Sweden, basically all the Scandinavian countries.
