Cheer Up

"oh what sullen thoughts for a sunny day where everyone should be bright and gay"

"Cheer up" said the voice to my rear.

"song birds are singing of pretty things as I sit here weeping in the shade of this big oak tree"

"Cheer up" said the voice to my rear

"I sit here sad on this grassy mat as the children all run and play, *sigh*, if only I can be happy on this day"

"Cheer up" said the voice to my rear

I turned to the voice intending to cry, "How can I cheer up with the knowledge I keep inside" But my breath felt short and my words faded away.

"Cheer up" said death "For your time is here."
