Secrets

Twinkle twinkle little star way up in the sky
Tell me the secrets of the world that you learn each night
What do people tell you when noone else is near?
Does anyone even notice you when the night is crystal clear?
Nights when the sky is like a sheet of black velvet, and endless blanket covering the world
The millions of stars like tiny diamonds, and the moon like a giant pearl.
What have you learned about me? My hopes? My dreams? My fears?
What have you learned of my life? Of the people and things I hold dear?
Have other people spoken of me and my deeds both good and bad?
Has anyone ever told you about the times when I'm painfully sad?
Only you, my special star my guardian in the night
You know all my strugles, triumphs, failures, joys, and frights.
You listen to my secrets, hiding each in the endless night sky
You sit back and simply watch as the rest of the world passes you by.
You hold my secrets tight letting me start each day anew.
I wonder what today will bring. Who knows? I think you do!
