There is a God
God waits above with open arms
For those who've wandered far.
His son, the Shepherd, seeks all lost sheep,
Even the tiniest ones.
His spirit conveyed in all ye people
Who take the time to smile;
Dear Father, Lord, the earth's Protector,
Is waiting all the while.
I know, my friend, you've been discouraged,
Lost and full of doubt;
How could a bodiless being have feeling?
How could He, whom I cannot see,
Ever exist? How could He love me?
Yet He is there, inside your heart.
Have ye conscience? Then He has spoken.
Have ye love? Then He has called.
Have ye seen compassion? Then He has acted.
Have ye body, mind and soul? Then He has been
And always will be.
As long as there's a world,
As long as there is hope and love,
Then He will call, speak, act, love, be...
And wait.
He'll wait for your return.
