Match Report
England were always expected too breeze past Denmark. The main threat from Denmark was the two lightnening wingers Remmordahl and Gronkjaer. England started positivley and looked to be walking all over the danes. On 5 mintues Beckham crossed that ball which ferdinand met with a firm header across the face of goal. Sorenson tried to catch the ball but ended up deiverting the ball into the back if the net. From this point onwards England looked to be in control. Another goal came on 22 Minutes from Michael Owen, His first of the toutnament. 2-0 up England looked in control but there was always the idea that England could let it slip like many a time before. Towards the end of the half England were on the back foot slightly with Sands shooting just wide. Denmark had the vast majority of possesion in the first half, but England on the break got another goal this time coming from the "non goalscoring striker". England could be very pleased with the way that the first half went.
The Second half commenced with England making a change, Owen off for Fowler. All England needed to do in the second half was to sit back and defend. Which they did effectivley. Good Work from both wing backs doing extremley well to silence Rommordahl and Gronkaer. Althought the Danes did have more possesion and the more chances in the second half England hung on to their 3 goal cussion. Not the best half only a few things to mention from the England Perspective. Danny Mills was Unlucky to get booked, Beckham should have done better when he was clean through and England didn't really find themselves in the oppsition half alot in the second half.
A good performance but if England are to face Brazil in the next round it will be an alot harder game. We're Through but we can still improve
