Very quickly, meet our Malaysian achievers....
Two bronzes from Lee Chong Wei & Chan Chong Ming - Koo Kien Keat.
Not a too bad achievement from Lee Chong Wei based on the fact that this was his first appearance in the World Championship. Many who have witnessed his quarterfinals match against Bao Chunlai commented that Chong Wei has grown quicker than usual and he thrashed Bao Chunlai very fast. However, Chong Wei's performance was a disaster in the semifinals when he was up against the eventual winner, Taufik Hidayat. It was disappointing when he lost in the first set in about 10 minutes but it was again no avail when he gave a fight to Taufik in the second set.
I would say kudos to Chan Chong Ming - Koo Kien Keat. Mind you, this pair was only been formed in November last year and already has this kinda huge achievement. Firstly, no one (including me) dared to imagine that they would have gotten the better of Fu Haifeng - Cai Yun in the round of last 16. But they sprang some surprises. Then, they went on to eliminate Indonesians Eng Hian - Flandy Limpele in the quarterfinals before they lost to Chandra Wijaya - Sigit Budiarto.
