The Edgeucation of Adam Copeland

March 18, 2003

Where do I begin? Well, first off there will be no mention of black Resistol hats, BBQ sauce or the Sooners. Instead it will be toques (that's Canadian for a winter hat), beer, and the Leafs and Devils. Hey, I'm Canadian, I have to live up to the stereotypes. But seriously, what does everyone want to hear about? What to address first? Well, first and foremost is the fact that, at least while I'm recuperating, I will have this weekly column. To vent, to answer questions, to update, basically just to keep an outlet open to the people who helped get me where I am today. Not lying on a couch with a fused neck, smart-asses, but getting ready (albeit at least a year from now) to come back to doing what I love to do. Those people are the fans, or as I affectionately refer to you, my Edgeheads.

As many of you may have read in Phil Speer's fine column (shameless kiss up), I'm doin' OK. I also logged onto a Web site that my uncle Randy had buzzed me on called Adam-Copeland.net. Basically, the messages and support from people in airports, bookstores, hospitals, restaurants, etc., and the aforementioned Web site got me to thinking that I could pull off some cool interactive stuff with my fans that a lot of guys can't do, due to our schedules.

So, you guys and gals, help me out. Let me know what you want me to talk about. You want my opinions on the sports-entertainment business, how the rehab is going, my musical tastes, good books -- I don't know you name it because this is all new to me. I think it should be a fun little ride that can still make me feel in touch with the Ol' Edge Army.

Right now, due to the rash of injuries, there is much speculation about toning down the product, so maybe I can start there next week. I'm sure it may raise a few eyebrows and cause a lot of speculation, both negative and positive, but it's better than no reaction at all. In wrestling terms, that's a kiss of death, as bad as being deemed "a good hand." So until next week, this has been the ongoing Edgeucation of Adam Copeland. Seeya!
