So, you can still have him, just the same. I can give you anything you want.
"No," she said aloud, making Brian and a few other people turn to look at
her. "I have to go," she said, standing, "Excuse me." Lana rushed out of the
room, but not before taking one last look at AJ. They locked eyes, and she
knew right then and there, despite her best intentions, someone's
relationship would be ruined before the night was over.
"Lana?" She heard Brian's soft voice and felt a comforting hand on her
shoulder. Reluctantly, she turned around, her eyes swollen and face tear
stained. "What's wrong, Lanie?"
"I -" she started sobbing and he pulled her close, resting her head on his
chest. She could hear his heartbeat. That beautiful heart that would soon be
broken, "Brian, you have to do something for me."
"What is it, baby?"
"I love you," she said, "And don't you ever forget that. No matter what
happens tonight, or tomorrow, or whenever, don't ever forget that I love
you."
Brian chuckled softly, "Lanie, what are you talking about?"
"Just say it -- promise me you won't forget."
