True Motives: Chapter 8

The loud sound of skin coming in contact with skin rang throughout the school hallway. She'd slapped him ((that's for you, Sarah! hehe)). Ryan couldn't believe it. SHE'D had the gull to slap HIM. How dare she!

"You little bitch!!"

"No! Don't you DARE turn this around on me!" Jenn shouted, the vein in her neck practically bursting.

Okay, this is a little scary, Ryan thought to himself.

"YOU ARE THE ONE THAT F*CKED ME AND IF YOU THINK YOU CAN JUST WALTZ UP TO ME AND PRACTICALLY ACCUSE ME OF WANTING TO GET PREGNANT, YOU'VE GOT ANOTHER THING COMING. YOU HAVEN'T BEEN THERE, RYAN! YOU HAVE NOT BEEN NEAR ME SINCE I FOUND OUT I'M PREGNANT! YOU DON'T KNOW WHAT I'M GOING THROUGH! NO ONE DOES! LYNN IS THE ONLY PERSON THAT HAS BEEN A CONSISTANT HUMAN BEING IN MY LIFE, LATELY! SO IF YOU THINK I'M HAPPY ABOUT THIS, IF YOU THINK I WANT TO GIVE BIRTH TO YOUR CHILD YOU'RE F*CKED UP IN THE HEAD! I WISH EVERY DAY THAT THIS CHILD WASN'T YOURS... BUT I DONT BELIEVE IN ABORTION... THAT IS THE ONLY REASON THIS BABY IS STILL IN ME! I DON'T KNOW IF IT'S THE FACT THAT I'M PREGNANT AT A YOUNG AGE, NOT MARRIED, AND THE FATHER IS A COMPLETE SELF-CENTERED ASS HOLE THAT PISSES ME OFF THE MOST! OR IF IT'S THE FACT THAT I'VE BEEN GOING THROUGH HELL SINCE THE DAY I LET YOU PLAY ANY SORT OF ROLE IN MY LIFE, THAT I GOT PREGNANT WITH YOUR BABY, AND YOUR DUMB-ASS OF A FRIEND WENT AND TOLD THE WHOLE SCHOOL!! AND IF THAT WASN'T ENOUGH TO GIVE ME A NERVOUS BREAKDOWN, YOU HAD TO COME UP TO ME AND TREAT ME LIKE SH*T! WELL, YOU KNOW WHAT, MR. PHILLIPPE?!?! STAY THE F*CK AWAY FROM ME OR I WILL KILL YOU!!!!"

By now every teacher of the classes that were in that hallway and all the students that were in those classes were standing in the hallway, watching in shock. For some reason no one tried to stop anything. They were all just too confounded to make a move.

Ryan watched closely as tears began to stream down her face as she stood there, trying to catch her breath. Her words had hit him harder than any slap from her ever could. He hadn't even realized that he'd had that much of an affect on her... and he wasn't trying to sound conceited with that thought! It was just that he'd always just screwed around with girls, never talked to them again, they'd cry a little, but boo-hoo they'd get over it... and they always did. So why was Jenn so different? No one had seriously CARED about him before... Did she??? Did she care that he didn't love her? Or was it just that she felt used? He wanted to find out, he wanted to talk to her, to actually comfort her... but she ran out of the school, wiping the tears from her face as she went.

Slowly the teachers and students walked away, all going in different directions and in due time Ryan was standing in the hallway alone. Until Linda walked over to him...

Linda slid her hands up Ryan's back, scratching her nails along it as she went.

Ryan whipped around quickly, anger evident on his face, "What the f*ck do you think you're doing?"

"Ryan, baby... I'm just trying to make you feel better," Linda pouted, her eyes getting all puppy dog-like. "Isn't that what girlfriends are supposed to do? Comfort their man?"

"You are NOT my girlfriend! How many times do I have to tell you that? I don't love you, okay?? Stop telling people I do."

Linda's face changed to anger, "It's that Jenn girl, isn't it?! The bitch is getting to you, isn't she?!"

Ryan stared at her, not answering. All of a sudden he ran out of the school, leaving Linda surprised.

~*~ That Night ~*~

Jenn's phone rang as she laid in the bathtub, her tears falling into the water. She grabbed the cordless which was sitting on the floor next to the tub and pressed the Talk button... she knew it was Lynn and that if she didn't answer, she'd come over. Then she'd have to get out of the bathtub, and she didn't want that.

"Hello?" she asked, her nose plugged from all the crying she'd done.

"Jenn?? Babygirl, you sound horrible... It's gonna be okay, sweetie!"

"Lynn, what am I going to do??" Jenn wailed, a whole new set of tears coming down her face now.

"You're going to have this baby and you're going to love it more than anything you've ever had in your life..." Lynn paused. "And if the baby wants to meet it's father when it's older, and Ryan does too... then you'll let them meet. Jenn, you are going to be the best mother out there. I know you will love this baby with every ounce of love in that heart of yours."

Jenn's tears slowly subsided, drying on her cheeks slightly. "Thanks, Lynn. I love you, girl."

"I love you too, chica! You're gonna do just fine."

Jenn smiled and opened her mouth to say something when the doorbell rang. "Lynn, what's the point in being on the phone if you're just gonna come over?" she laughed lightly.

"What? What are you talking about? I didn't come over," Lynn chuckled, thinking her friend had lost it.

"What the f*ck? Hang on a minute."

"Okay."

Jenn set the phone back down on the floor and stood out of the tub. She debated on drying off before putting her robe on, or just slipping it on. When the doorbell rang for the second time, she slipped the robe on - neglecting drying off - and walked down the stairs and to the door, dripping water on the floor as she went. Since her brain was a little dead due to the happenings of the day, she forgot to look through the peak hole, and pulled the door open.

The fact that Ryan stood on the other side of the door shocked her. The fact that Ryan was crying shocked the sh*t out of her. Hell no, she was NOT falling for his act! There was no way in hell!

"Leave, Ryan." she said softly, while looking down at the ground. Raising her voice would only intensify the headache that she had.

"Jenn, I am SO sorry, you have no idea." Ryan pleaded for her to hear him out.

The octave of her voice didn't change, "Ryan, I asked you to leave. Please."

"Okay, Jenn. I will if that's what you want. Just know... just know that I am deeply sorry for all the pain that I've caused you. And that... and that... I... I'm going to support our baby," with that he walked quickly away from her door and got into his car, leaving.

Jenn stood in the doorway for another 10 minutes in shock, before remembering Lynn was on the phone. Walking back up the stairs, she walked into the bathroom and picked the phone back up... "I hate that f*ckin' bastard more than I ever have."
