Please Remember Me: The Story: Part 2: The Visit

YoSwtThang@aol.com

Sorry I'm so late But I've been out walking Tryna find a way to tell you what I think you already know I'd never want to hurt you 'cause darlin' I still love you But things aren't like they used to be It's time for letting go

I wasn't out there lookin' But a month ago last Sunday I met someone just like you in line at the grocery store And we've been spending time together Yeah, she knows all about you The truth is, she can give me what you can't anymore

Lookin' back when we first started I never thought I'd see this day If only I could write the pages our story wouldn't end this way

I feel so much better knowing we could have this moment But it looks like it may rain soon and it's gettin' kind of late I'll always bring your roses each time I come to visit The caretakers waving He wants to close the gates, Ohh

Lookin' back when we first started I never thought I'd see this day If only I could write the pages our story wouldn't end this way If only I could write the pages our story wouldn't end this way

Nick glanced around the graveyard before his eyes fell to the headstone in front of him.

Ginny Carter

We love you,

Nick and Nikole

It had been three years since the death of his wife and he still got shaky at the sight of the cold stone that housed her now deteriorating bones. He still missed her; still ached to be with her, to hold her once more; he still got teary-eyed at old home videos. But he knew he had to move on... for the sake of their daughter (whom he'd named after Gin's middle name), for the sake of himself. He knew that that's what Gin would want.

Sitting down on the cold ground in front of her grave, Nick placed the roses on top of her headstone. "I love you, Gin... But I have to tell you something. I met someone; I'm sure you already know that though," he spoke so softly, no one else would have been able to hear him, but he knew she did. "I'm not in love with her... but... I think I could fall in love with her. She's really good with Nikole too. Nikole's doing really well, by the way. She's so beautiful, Gin. I know that you would love her with all the love that you had. She's so much like you, already... it's almost scary. Well, anyway... I just needed to tell you about everything. It makes me feel so much better to talk to you about things. It always did."

Nick noticed it was getting dark and the cemetery was about to close.

"I better go, baby. I love you. I'll be back soon, I promise."

Kissing his fingers, Nick placed them gently onto the cold stone, before standing and slowly walking away.

When all our tears have reached the sea Part of you will live in me Way down deep inside my heart The days keep coming without fail A new wind is gonna find your sail That's where your journey starts

You'll find better love Strong as it ever was Deep as a river runs Warm as the morning sun Please remember me

Just like the waves down by the shore We're gonna keep on coming back for more Cuz we don't ever wanna stop Out in this brave new world you seek Oh the valleys and the peaks And I can see you on the top

You'll find better love Strong as it ever was Deep as a river runs Warm as the morning sun Please remember me

Remember me when you're out walking When snow falls high outside your door Late at night when you're not sleeping And moonlight falls across your floor When I can't hurt you anymore

You'll find better love Strong as it ever was Deep as a river runs Warm as the morning sun Please remember me Please remember me
