Tell Me What You Want: The Story

YoSwtThang@aol.com

Tell me, won't you tell me what, won't you tell me what you wanna do Tell me, won't you tell me what, won't you tell me what you wanna do

Are you tired of me Do you want to be free I just got to know Should I hang on or let go (let go) Don't keep me guessin' It just ain't fair You got me drownin' in a sea of despair

I've held up for as long as I can Ooh, I need to know am I still your man?

Could you tell me what you want Tell me what you gonna do, girl Could you tell me what you want Tell me what I am for true, girl Oh yeah

Good impression on my heart Maybe we need some time apart We need to find out what's gone wrong Before the love's completely gone

I've held up for as long as I can I need to know am I still your man? Are we past the point of no return? Is there a reason to be concerned?

Could you tell me what you want Tell me what you gonna do, girl Could you tell me what you want Tell me what I am for true, girl Oh yeah

Give me a chance to save what's left of my pride (what's left of my pride) Please tell me girl (tell me girl) is the grass greener on the other side

Could you tell me what you want Tell me what you gonna do, girl Could you tell me what you want Tell me what I am for true, girl Oh yeah Could you tell me what you want Tell me what you gonna do, girl Could you tell me what you want Tell me what I am for true, girl Oh yeah

Could you tell me, won't you tell me what, won't you tell me what you wanna do Could you tell me, won't you tell me what, won't you tell me what you wanna do

-Tell Me What You Want, by Aaron Carter (CD: Aaron's Party [Come Get It])

Nick sighed as he talked to Brian, "She just ignores me, man. It's like ... when we first met we were totally pursuing each other, but once we had each other it was like she lost interest or something."

"Well, what do you mean by 'ignores you'?" Brian asked while switching the phone to his other ear. They'd been talking for an hour and his ears were beginning to sweat.

"Everytime I wanna go out and do something she already has plans. Maybe she's cheating on me," Nick pondered the thought, his stomach suddenly churning.

"Nah, actually I think Leigh took her out tonight."

"Oh great. Does Leigh get down like that?" Nick smirked.

"Nick!" Brian laughed at his friend's demented mind. "No... No, she doesn't. Quit worrying, everything will work out with you and Aleta, okay? You guys love each other. I think you two just need to talk it out. And I'll try and get Leighanne to take her out a little less."

"Alright. Hey, I think someone just pulled up into the driveway. I'll talk to you later, okay?" Nick walked to the window to look out of the blinds.

"Okay, see ya."

"Bye," Nick said as he hung up and looked outside to see Aleta's car. He took a deep breath. It had been a long time since she'd just stopped by. He normally had to go and see her, not vice versa. "Hey, Aleta," Nick met his girlfriend at the bottom of the staircase.

Aleta smiled up at him, "Hey, Nick. Sorry it's so late - I just swung by to say hi."

"Yeah. Did you have fun with Leigh?" he walked into the kitchen and got a couple glasses down, before pouring a few drinks into them and sliding hers across the counter to her.

"Yeah," she said, while looking down. "Look, Nick - I think we need to talk."

Nick sighed, "Yeah, I figured this was coming sometime soon. Look, Leta - I really love you. I don't understand why you pretended to like me too... once we started dating you like lost all interest or something."

"Nick, I have a problem," Aleta blurted out.

"What??"

"I have this problem... Every time I really, really, really like a guy and I really want him, once I have him... I get bored. I know how cliche this is, but trust me when I tell you it's not you. I like you, Nick, a lot... but I like the excitement of trying to get the guy more."

Nick nodded, "Alright, then I'll see you later," he began to walk out of the kitchen to go upstairs to his bedroom.

"Nick," Aleta grabbed his hand, stopping him. "I'm sorry. I don't want to not see you anymore - maybe we can be friends."

"I don't know if I'd go that far. You'll see me - after all, you're friends with Leigh."

"Nick, I love you," she blurted out as he tried to leave the room again.

Nick looked back at her, wondering why she was doing this, "No, you don't," he threw her hand from his and left the kitchen, going up the stairs, his bedroom door closing quietly behind him.

Tears fell from Aleta's eyes. She'd done it again.

Oh baby, I'm missing you We used to love so strong Tell me where did we go wrong Oh baby, I'm missing you They say I'll learn to forget But it sure ain't happened yet

Been checkin' out the places where we used to go (used to go) And lookin' for your face inside the crowd I've been talkin' to the people that we used to know But nobody wants to say where you're right now

And when I call your phone Seems like you're never, ever home And you don't return my calls, no (return my calls) It tears me apart (tears me up) It's breakin' up my heart (it's breakin' up my heart)

Oh baby, I'm missing you We used to love so strong Tell me where did we go wrong Oh baby, I'm missing you They say I'll learn to forget But it sure ain't happened yet Sure ain't happened yet

I still have your pictures hung around my room It's the only thing that's left of you and me, ohh What can I do to make you come back soon And make it just the way it used to be

Oh, is there someone new Can never go on without you I don't wanna think about it, no I can't sleep at night No this can't be right Come back into my life (Come back, baby, come back)

I'm missing you We used to love so strong Tell me where did we go wrong Oh baby, I'm missing you They say I'll learn to forget But it sure ain't happened yet

I know there's a chance for you and I And I believe there's no way our love could die So no matter how long it takes, I'll wait for you And whatever it takes I'll be there for you I'll be there I'll be there...

I'm missing you We used to love so strong Tell me where did we go wrong Oh baby, I'm missing you They say I'll learn to forget But it sure ain't happened yet

Oh baby, I'm missing you We used to love so strong Tell me where did we go wrong Oh baby, I'm missing you They say I'll learn to forget But it sure ain't happened yet But it sure ain't happened yet But it sure ain't happened yet Sure ain't happened yet
