You'll be my New Year's Day, my Valentine I ain't gonna stop until I make you mine You'll be my April Fool, my Mardi Gras The music on my tongue, when I sing fa la la

You'll be my flower child, in the month of May My sunny summer lover on my holiday You'll be my autumn leaves, my Halloween The winter snow and everything that's in between

This year I'm gonna take you home This year I don't wanna be alone This year, this Christmas, together And the minutes they pass And the hours they fly This year, this Christmas, forever And the weeks and the months go rushing by This year we've learned how to live How to forget, and how to forgive without fear, ohhh Just love, this Christmas, this year

You'll be my spring ahead, my fall behind The shimmy on my hips, oh when I bump and grind You'll be my Santa Boy, all dressed in red And ride that little reindeer all through my head

Ohh, ohhh Here we go

This year I'm gonna take you home This year I don't wanna be alone This year, this Christmas, together And the minutes they pass And the hours they fly This year, this Christmas, forever And the weeks and the months go rushing by This year we have learned how to live How to forget, and how to forgive without fear, ohhh Just love, this Christmas, this year

This year I pray for you And I thank God for you I just wanna be with you This year that's all I wanna do

Day by day, I'm gonna get my way This year I pray for you Seasons turn, I've got a lot to learn And I thank God for you

This year I'm gonna, gonna, gonna take you home Cuz I don't wanna be alone This year, this Christmas, together And the minutes they pass And the hours they fly This year, this Christmas, forever And the weeks and the months go rushing by Now this year we have learned how to live How to forget, and how to forgive without fear, ohhh Just love...

This year we have learned how to live How to forget, and how to forgive without fear, ohhh Just love, this Christmas, this year Ooohh, ohhh

Jedda looked at Nick from across the room. He looked happy as he conversed with his younger brother, Aaron, by the Christmas tree. The colored lights on the tree were shining on his hair, changing his blonde locks different colors.

Oh holy night The stars are brightly shining It is the night of our dear Savior's birth

Nick and Jedda's families had been close friends since the both of them could remember. The two had always been friends - but nothing close or inseperable. Jedda had had a crush on Nick since she was a little girl, when Nick was still in his 'Girls have cooties' stage. He'd long since left that stage, had had quite a few girlfriends - none that were incredibly serious, but had never tried to pursue anything more with Jedda than a friendship... much to her disappointment, though she was glad to at least be that with the teen heart-throb.

Long lay the world in sin and error pining 'Til He appeared and the soul felt its worth A thrill of hope, the weary world rejoices For yonder breaks a new and glorious morn

Jedda stood from her place on the floor and walked into the Carter's kitchen to get a glass of egg nog. Her 16 year old brother, Josh, was sitting on the counter, talking with BJ, Nick's sister. "Hey, punk," Jed punched Josh's arm softly, before grabbing the egg nog and pouring a glass.

BJ smiled at them, before turning to Josh, "I'll see ya later, J," she left the kitchen and went back into the living room, where everyone else was gathered.

Jedda turned to her brother, a smirk on her face. She'd always thought BJ and Josh liked each other, though she never had any proof. BJ was 2 years older than Josh, but Jedda thought they would make a cute couple.

"You betta cool it, Jed," Josh laughed.

"What are you talking about??"

"Your goo-goo eyes at Nick are sure to be noticed soon, if they haven't been already."

Jed's eyes widened, "Is it that obvious??"

Josh laughed again, before jumping down from the counter, "Yeah, it is... See ya later, sis. And Merry Christmas," he kissed her cheek and vanished into the living room.

"Yeah, you too," she called after him faintly.

Fall on your knees! Oh, hear the angel voices Oh night divine, Oh night when Christ was born Oh night divine, Oh night divine

Jedda was still standing in the kitchen, a few minutes later, thinking about what her brother had said, when Nick appeared in the room, from around the corner.

"Hey, Jed, what are you doin' in here?" Nick smiled, getting out some sparkling cider.

Jedda smiled shyly, "Nothing much... you know, another month and you don't need to drink that fake stuff."

He looked over at her with a smirk, "Yeah, you think I haven't drank the real stuff yet? I'm at my parent's house, Jed. Nothing's as it seems."

She rolled her eyes, before turning to leave.

"Hey, Jedda..." Nick called after her, making her stop walking.

"Yeah?" she turned around to look at him, as he leaned against the counter, looking back at her.

"Your brother was right..." he turned back around, and took a sip of his sparkling cider.

Jedda's mouth gaped open, "W-What??"

Nick shrugged, his back still to her, "Someone was sure to notice, weren't they? Too bad for you, it was me."

She glared at him, and he could see her through the reflection of the window that he was standing in front of.

"Calm yourself, chica... It'll be okay," he turned around, stuck his bottom lip out in mock sympathy, patted her shoulder, and left the room, glass in hand.

"Urghhh!!" Jedda walked to the bathroom, frustrated beyond belief.

Our Father which art in Heaven Hallowed by Thy name Thy Kingdom come, Thy will be done On earth as it is in Heaven Give us this day our daily bread And forgive us our trespasses As we forgive those who trespass against us Lead us not into temptation, But deliver us from evil For Thine is the Kingdom, the power, and the glory Forever and ever Amen

She slammed the door behind her and stared at her reflection in the mirror. She looked pissed. Feeling a headache coming on, she unknitted her eyebrows and softened her face. As a few tears welled up in her eyes, she sniffed quietly. How could he do that to her? She was head-over-heels for him, falling in love with him more and more each time she saw his face, and he not only hurt her feelings, but humiliated her.

A soft knock came at the door as an abundant amount of tears cascaded down her face. Sniffling, she wiped her face off with a hand-towel that hung on the rack. Her eyes were bloodshot, making the blue in her eyes stand out even more, and it was obvious she'd just been crying. Opening the door slowly, she saw Nick standing on the other side.

Without saying anything, Nick stepped inside the bathroom, closing the door behind him, locking it, and leaning his back against it. He grabbed her hands gently in his and pulled her to him until she was flat up against him, "I didn't mean to make you cry, Jed," he whispered, sorrowfully. "I didn't mean what I said out there... the thing is..." he lowered his voice even more, his mouth on her ear. "Everyone was watching. You couldn't see them because your back was to them, but I could, and I couldn't very well do this..." he pulled her face closer to his and kissed her on the mouth, fully, his tongue mingling gently with hers, before pulling away. "...in front of my mom, now could I?"

Fall on your knees! Oh hear the angel voices Oh night divine, Oh night when Christ was born Oh night divine!

Jedda's eyes were wide, and she felt like she was about to faint. "Nick..."

"Yeah, Jed?" he wrapped his arms around her waist in a tight embrace.

"Merry Christmas."

Nick grinned, "Merry Christmas..."
