“Those boys wear me out every time.” Faith sighed as she plopped down into a booth at the local Hard Rock café. “Damn I know it. Timberlickin good.” Brynn said as she took a seat across from Faith and looked around the restaurant. It was after midnight, and she and Faith had just come from an amazing *NSYNC concert. The restaurant might as well have been closed, a couple or two sat around in far places, but for the most part, the place was deserted.

“I wonder if he feels it.” Faith said quietly as she reflected on the night. Brynn smiled at her from across the way, knowing exactly what she was talking about. For the past two concerts Faith had been at, her eyes had made inevitable contact with those of JC, and both times the electric feeling that coursed through her wasn’t something she could forget. She loved that boy, but there wasn’t a way for him to know it.

“You know he does Faith. But he has just as much power to meet you as you have to meet him.” Brynn answered as she shuffled through the menu before setting it down and looking at her worn-out friend. Once again, Faith had been through a concert with no success of meeting the man she yearned for. “He’ll know it sooner or later, right??” Brynn asked, a smile sparking up Faith’s face as she chuckled.

“DAMN right.” She answered as Brynn laughed. Still, Faith had to wonder how much longer it’d take before she could know if there was something there.

Brynn’s stunned words and surprised look on her face brought Faith out of her trance. Brynn’s hand flopped onto Faith’s menu as it fell from her hands. “What??” Faith asked with a confused look on her face. “Faith……look.” Brynn said. Faith followed Brynn’s gaze to the open doorway, in which stood a worn-looking Justin Timberlake. His khaki fisherman’s face undoubtedly served to hide his identity, but his distinguishable curls popping out from underneath and his sad blue eyes gave him away. Justin walked in and looked around the restaurant before noticing no one was really there.

Brynn’s breath caught as she looked down at her menu, trying not to look too obvious. However, Faith’s clenching grip on Brynn’s arm caused her to look right back up as Justin took a seat at the booth behind them.

She looked up as the door opened again, this time in a forceful manner, more so than when the exhausted Justin had pushed open the door. “Oh my god…” Faith muttered as Bobbie stepped inside is a huffy manner, followed by JC. JC had a determined yet used look on his face as he chased after Bobbie.

“Honey please. Can we please not make a scene??” He asked looking around at all the empty tables but his eyes locked on Faith. I looked over at Faith, who was staring right back at his blue-eyed gaze. JC’s eyebrow’s rose a little bit before Bobbie grabbed his jaw and turned his head back toward her.

“I’m so sick and tired of your puppy love shit. I’ve never loved you and never will. I love someone else who can give me what I want Joshua, none of this mutual crap. I’ve had enough of your teenybopper lifestyle, and you were so caught up in it you had no idea I’ve been cheating on you the whole time. Shows exactly how much you want me Josh.” She said furiously as JC’s jaw clenched and Faith’s hand tightened on Brynn’s arm.

Tears sprang to JC’s eyes as Bobbie grabbed the purse from Justin’s hand and stormed out of the restaurant. Faith watched with a breaking heart as a tear slid down JC’s face- he’d just been told the worst thing someone could be told, and it was amazing he was still standing there.

“I gotta do something.” Faith said as Brynn nodded and Faith slid out of the seat before taking a deep breath, not taking her eyes of the man in front of her.

“She’s always gotta break his heart.” Justin mumbled from behind Brynn. His soft, worn voice caused her to turn around slowly. Disregarding who he was, she knew he needed some kind of comfort. “Hey, you okay?” She asked softly as Justin turned to face her, noticing her for the first time. A slow smile spread across his face as he was met with a comforting, worried blue eyed gaze.

“I’m aight, I’m not too sure he is.” Justin said as Brynn smiled at him and he smiled back. The freckles on her nose and her bright smile gave her a soft look, Justin noticed. She stood up and sat down across from him at the booth he was seated at. He stuck out his hand and took hers in it. “Justin.” He said slowly, shocked at the electric feeling that coursed through his at her touch. “Nice to meet you. I’m Brynn.” She said, watching their hands as he lightly released hers.

Justin’s gaze drifted over to JC, who stood staring after the door. “I don’t know why he always went back to her. There was no getting through to him that she wasn’t right for him, there never is. He’s so hopeless when it comes to love.” Justin uttered as Brynn followed his gaze over to where Faith was approaching him.

“She seemed like a whore.” She said flat out, causing Justin to chuckle. “Exactly my sentiments.” He agreed before looking back at her. “You think he’s gonna be okay??” She asked, not noticing Justin’s intrigued gaze watching her. Her eyes drifted from JC to Faith and then back to Justin who shrugged. “JC’s an interesting creature. I never can really predict what he’s gonna do.” Justin said as Brynn turned her head to meet his gaze and he smiled. She laughed lightly as she looked down and back up. “Well maybe she can help……” Brynn nodded toward Faith………………………….

“JC?” Faith asked softly as she put a hand on his shoulder comfortingly. By this point JC had taken a seat in the booth behind where he had been standing moments before. With his head down in his hands, he was unrecognizable. However, at the feel of her touch, he looked up, his teary eyed gaze meeting hers for the third time that night. Once again a rushed, electric, butterflies-in-the-stomach feeling rushed through them both.

“I’m sorry if I startled you.” She said softly as his sad blue eyes looked up, begging her gaze for help. “No, it’s okay.” He answered so lightly that she had to strain to hear him. “Do you mind if I sit down??” Faith said as JC shook his head. “No not at all.” He said as Faith took a seat in the booth across from him and looked down at the table, biting her lip before looking back up and meeting JC’s sideways glance. Faith looked at him for a second, taking in his beauty even when he was upset, the way his forehead had this worried crease and his eyes screamed pain. But there was something that relieved her…..she knew he was done with Bobbie. She didn’t know why she knew, but she did.

“Are you okay??” Faith asked as JC breathed in deeply and tried to keep himself from crying. He knew Bobbie wasn’t the one for him, he always did, but she had been cheating on him?? How could she betray him like that?? He’d been hurt like this so many times……

“I can’t believe she’d do this to me.” JC muttered quietly as Faith felt a lump in her throat start to form and she had to contain her anger for Bobbie and the urge to wrap JC in the biggest hug he’d ever felt all at once. It wasn’t turning out too easily, but he needed her to listen, and she knew it.

“JC I don’t know the whole story, but what I do know is that she’s not worth even the slightest bit of your heart, and if that’s what she took then you’ve gotta realize she’s the one in the wrong, not you.” Faith said, trying to give him some reason to the situation. JC was watching her closely as a single tear rolled down his cheek and a question popped into his head. In his mind, the inevitable picture of Bobbie walking out the door was covered by Faith sitting in front of him, offering him her shoulder and ears for absolutely no reason. Why couldn’t he love someone like her?? Why did he have to fall into Bobbie’s trap.

Faith watched the lone tear rolls down JC’s perfectly sculpted cheek and she didn’t even realize that this was THE JC Chasez sitting in front of her. This was a man who was unrightyfully hurt, his heart broken, his little bit of trust left, betrayed by a monkey bitch who knew better than to get involved with him.

“Never cry over anyone who wouldn’t cry over you.” Faith and JC said simultaneously as Faith looked taken aback and gazed back into JC’s now semi-amused gaze. “How’d you know I was gonna say that??” Faith asked as JC kind of shook his head lightly. “I just had this feeling you were gonna say it. I said that Justin when Britney crushed him….I can’t believe she did that to him.” JC said with a smile, but it faded as he realized this was happening to him also.

“And now your in the same spot.” Faith said, finishing his thought as he looked up and couldn’t understand why he felt so comfortable with this stranger. He thought she might have been the one at the concert: it was the weirdest thing, but he looked down during TIPY and his eye just totally caught the gaze of the girl below and something gave him this warm feeling inside. He’d looked around after the concert when the bus was leaving, but there were thousands of girls there…..but only one who could give him the tingles he felt….the same tingles he was feeling right now with this girl. He’d never felt this way before, not with Bobbie, not with anyone.

“I’m sorry I didn’t even get your name.” JC said, realizing he wanted more than anything tp put a name on this gorgeous girl sitting in front of him. “Faith.” She said softly as she watched JC’s tongue graze lightly over his lips, leaving them shiny as he repeated her name. “Faith.” He said softly as the name ran through his mind and he looked back up at her. The concern in her eyes shown straight through her attempt to look in control of the situation. What amazed him the most was that he knew that concern was for him, and he liked it…………………………

Justin watched Brynn explain they’re search for an interesting restaurant with complete amazement. He’d been so caught up in their conversation all night that he hadn’t realized how gorgeous she was until now. Her blue eyes had a fiery glow to them that just intrigued him more, and there was something about her smile that gave him these tingles in his stomach he’d never felt before. They’d spent the last hour or so talking mostly about JC and Faith, and she seemed to just know everything was gonna be okay, a reality check, a breath of fresh air for him. He didn’t know what it was about her…..but he loved it.

Brynn slowly stopped talking as she noticed Justin’s half smile and his intrigued gaze. Her forehead creased and she lightly scrunched her nose and she bit her lip and he laughed. “What??” She asked innocently as Justin laughed and licked his lips. “Nothing sorry, I was just amused by your expressions.” He said as Brynn raised her eyebrows and gave him a pathetic look.

“Why does that not surprise me?? I suck at this poker-face game..” Brynn giggled as Justin sat back in his seat but didn’t break the gaze. “The expressions help, but it’s your eyes.” Justin said as Brynn’s eyebrows rose in confusion and Justin realized he’d just said that aloud. He’d been so tired after the concert but now, as he was talking with a new friend, he felt happier, more awake than he had in a long time.

“What’s my eyes??” Brynn asked as Justin smiled at her confusion. Realizing he had to complete his thought, his face turned a light shade of pink as he finished. “I can tell by looking into your eyes what your feeling. They’re gorgeous by the way.” He said as Brynn looked a little taken aback. He looked away as his shyness overtook him and Brynn smiled brightly. “Thanks.” She said shyly as Justin looked back up and a sly smile spread over his face. Her eyes were telling him more than she knew…………….

Two hours later, JC looked down at his watch as Faith yawned. “O wow it’s almost two o’clock.” JC said, utterly surprised at how fast time had passed. Faith looked just as surprised as they stood up and she looked back into the gaze she’d been locked in all night. They walked out of the now completely empty restaurant to find Justin and Brynn laying comfortably on a bench asleep.

Faith and JC smiled at their young friends resting peacefully outside a city restaurant. “Well this is unusual. Asleep on a bench at 2 o’clock in the morning outside a Hard Rock Café.” Faith giggled as JC laughed. “Guess we were talking for longer than thought.” JC said as Faith giggled and leaned down to nudge Brynn. Brynn woke up slowly as she smiled up at JC and Faith. “Wow did we fall asleep??” She asked as Justin’s eyes slowly opened and Faith nodded. “You ready J??” JC asked as he ran his hand through his curls and Brynn stodd up, offering him her hand to pull him off the bench. “Ya, mind if we take a quick walk to wake up??” He asked as JC shook his head and Brynn and Justin headed down the sidewalk and JC and Faith took a seat on the bench. Neither said a word and they stared into the stars above.

“So are you or are you not okay?? You never answered.” Faith giggled after 5 minutes. They’d spent the last two hours talking things over, JC throwing his entire life story on her basically, and her enjoying every minute of it, except for the fact that his heart was crushed. JC chuckled, his eyes puffy from the crying he’d felt comfortable enough to express in front of her. “I’m okay now, I wasn’t then, but I am now.” He answered slowly as she smiled, and once again it warmed his heart. “Faith you work miracles.” He said as she felt herself blush and look away.

The sensation that coursed through her cheek when he touched it was unexplainable. “I honestly can’t thank you enough.” He said, turning her face so that her eyes met his again. She smiled as she looked back at him. “All I did was listen JC. You helped yourself.” She said humbly as JC shook his head and smiled before pulling her into a tight hug. Electricity coursed through them both at the touch and neither wanted to let go.

After a long pause, Faith pulled away slowly and met JC’s gaze. At that moment he knew. She was the one. She was the one at the concert during TIPY. She was the one who came up to him and listened to him for no reason at all. She was the one who had been a best friend to him this entire night when she could have brushed what she’d heard aside. She was the one he’d dreamt about meeting in his dreams. She was the one he’d already started to fall in love with.

“I felt it too.” JC said as Justin and Brynn came into view from around a building a block or two down. Faith’s eyes widened at JC’s words and she looked at him deeply, not needing an explanation. The eye contact, everything. He’d felt it too. He nodded his head lightly as he leaned forward slowly and his lips inched closer to hers ever-so-slowly. “I felt it too.”
