CHAPTER 4

The next couple of weeks flew by with a blur. The guys and I hung out the majority of the time just talking and goofing off. My mom came home after a week and they got to meet her. She loved every single one of them, even if she did think "the one with the Bozo colored hair" was a bit odd. Jordan came over a few times during the second week and we all got to know each other pretty good.
The day before they were to leave, the guys and I were hanging out in back by the pool. "Hey Justyce, you are going to keep in touch with us right?" asked Chris. "I promise to as long as you guys promise to keep in touch with me." I said. They all nodded and crossed their hearts. "I could get so used to this, I don't wanna leave and go to Europe tomorrow." said Justin. "I know what you mean man, this is the life." added J.C.
"You all are welcome to come here and visit anytime you want to...you should know that by now." I said. "Yeah, we know that Just. But we got so used to just being "normal" that part of us just wants to stay that way." said Joey.
That night my mom, brother the guys in the *NSYNC band and the management came over for a pool party/barbecue. Lance caught up with me in the kitchen as I was preparing the food for the grill. "Need any help with that doll?" he asked quietly.
I stopped what I was doing at the sink and looked up a bit and thought. I then turned around. "Well, you could help me mix the seasoning in with the hamburger if you want." I said as I turned back around and looked outside.
He came up next to me and started mixing the burger. "I really enjoyed having you guys as my neighbors these past 2 weeks Lance. I'm gonna miss you." I said as I rinsed off an onion.
Lance wiped off his hands and came around in back of me as he slid his arms around my waist, reaching for the peeler and proceeding to peel the onion for me. "We're going to miss the hell out of you Justyce. Especially me you know that?" he asked.
I stood frozen for a minute until what he said and how he said it, really sunk in. He broke me out of my daze as he rested his chin upon my shoulder. "Lance....are you sure?" I asked as I closed my eyes wishing to hear the answer that I wanted him to say.
He reached for the soap as he washed our hands off. He then turned me around slowly to face him and lifted my chin up a bit. "I am very much for sure sweetheart." he said as he leaned his lips into mine for a sweet, soft kiss. I kissed him in return as he held me close to his body. I could feel the warmth of his skin and the beating of his heart against me as I closed my eyes, savoring every moment I had with him.
That is, until Justin barged into the house scaring the crap out of us. "HEY!! Where's the food you two?" he asked as he grabbed an apple, munching on it happily. "We were just fininshing up Justin....we'll be right out." Lance said. "Cool, see ya in a few." said Justin as he walked back outside.
"You think that he caught on that something was up?" I asked.
"Naw, he's oblivious to the fact of the matter, unless you tell him step by step." Lance said with a laugh. We gave each other a quick kiss, promising that we would talk about "us" that night after all the commotion died down, as we brought the food outside to the grill. The guys' manager, Johnny, came over and sat next to me as we started talking. "So Justyce, what do you plan to do now that you have your degree?" he asked. "Well, Wayne called me about a month ago and offered me a job working for his company as a video producer/editor." I said as I took a sip of my drink.
My mom coughed loud enough so that I noticed. "Justyce Catherine, just when were you going to tell me about this job offer young lady?!" asked my mom. "Well, as soon as I gave him a definite answer. I'm not sure yet." I said as I glanced over to Lance who had a huge smile upon his face, showing me that he would approve of the job.
"Well, I guess I can call him and tell him that I accept his job offer." I said as I went into the house to get the phone. When I came back out everyone started clapping. "Uh, ok...now what's that for?" I asked.
"Justin already has Wayne on his cell phone and he is waiting for your answer dear." my mom said. "Well, I guess you all really want to get rid of me that easy huh?" I asked as I took Justin's phone.
"Hey Wayne, wassup mah man?" I asked him with a snicker. "Uh huh....yeah....when....ok....with who....no shit....do they know....fantastic....I can't wait....ok, see you in a few days then....bye." I said to Wayne as I pressed the end button and turned around facing everyone.
"Well?! What's the verdict hun?" asked my mom.
I grinned from ear to ear as I spoke. "You all are looking at the new producer and editor of the upcoming video for "This I Promise You" by *NSYNC." I said as everyone started clapping louder and giving hugs all around.
When it came time for Lance to give me a hug, he also gave me a kiss on my cheek close to my lips. "I am proud of you Justyce, congrats." he whispered. "Thanks Lance, it means alot." I whispered in return.
The night went on as we partied late. Everyone said their good-byes around midnight, but Lance told the guys that he was going to stick around for awhile longer. I told them all that I would see them off at the airport when it was time for them to leave.
Lance helped me clean up the rest of the mess that was inside and outside. We sat down at the kitchen table each with a cup of coffee as we started talking.
"Wanna know something Justyce?" Lance asked with a hint of glitter in his eye. "I wanna know alot of things Lance....but what you are about to tell me, I think I want to know more." I said with a smile.
"You and I have alot in common but yet we don't. I could fall in love with a girl like you." he said as he blushed a little. I leaned in close to him. "Then what's stopping you?" I whispered into his ear sending chills over his body.
"Nothing at all, that's why I would like to start right now. That is, if you don't mind?" he asked as he met my eyes with his. "As long as you wouldn't mind me starting as well. I really like you Lance and we have gotten to know one another pretty damn well in the past couple of weeks I must say. I would love to be with you....for as long as you would want me." I said as I gave him a kiss on the tip of his nose.
"Well now, I guess you got me forever baby, cuz that's how long I want to be with you." he said as he leaned into give me a kiss on my lips. I slid my hand around his neck and brought him in, deepening the kiss evermore. It seemed like it lasted forever and then we finally broke free. "Are you gonna be ok with me leaving tomorrow for Europe?" he asked. I smiled as I stood up and took his hand into mine to stand him up. "As long as we have tonight, everything will be fine hun." I said as I led him into the family room. "Just do me one thing?" I asked. "Anything for you Justyce." he said as we sat down on the sofa.
"Just hold me close to you tonight so that I will have this memory etched into my mind for the time that you are gone." I said as we laid down curling up within each other. "Mmmm...now that sounds perfect. Now, just close your eyes and dream. And in the morning when you wake up, I'll still be here. I promise." he said as he kissed my forehead. "Good night Lancelot." I said with a slight yawn. "Good night baby." he said as we both drifted off into a dreamful night for both of us.
