I ran in, 'cause I was in a hurry, and went directly over to the videos. I picked up the last copy of Making the Tour, and started to make my way the the checkout lanes.
Well, this lady was there with her daughter who couldn't have been more than 7 or 8. And she had seen me take the last one. Well, her daughter threw a FIT. "Mo-OM! I want the *NSYNC video!"
"I'm sorry, but that girl over there took the last one."
Let's just say her daughter was NOT happy. That had to have been the worst temper tantrum I have EVER seen. That display was embarassing and appalling.
But anyways, so the lady comes up to me and goes, "Excuse me miss, I hate to ask you this, but would you be willing to give up your *NSYNC video?"
I'm thinking OH HELL NO! I PICKED OUT THE VIDEO FIRST, DAMNIT! DON'T GET MAD AT ME CUZ I GOT THERE FIRST AND YOU MISSEDOUT PEACE! But I said to the lady, "No, I'm sorry."
At that point her daughter is SCREAMING. She's begging me, "Please. I'm sure you can find it another time."
I looked her straight in the eye and said, "No, I'm sorry. I would have been glad to give it to you, but you need to teach your daughter some discipline. She needs to learn that she can't ALWAYS get what she wants, let alone by screaming and fussing."
And I walked away. I know, I'm a BITCH. I know that was mean and probably way out of line, but if I had EVER put on such a display like that, my mother would have SPANKED me the second we got home. I may not have kids of my own, but I have friends who do. I've done my share of babysitting, and I value and appreciate the way my parents raised me.
I don't really have a point to make with my story. I just needed to vent a little. I feel really bad about how I handled the situtation, but there's nothing I can do about it now. No use worrying about it. Besides, watching the video again will make me feel better. :) I'll get my review to you soon. Have a GREAT day.
