Chapter 3

Lance popped the movie in the VRC. "I'm serious. This movie is incredible."

Justin glanced at Chris. "Do you think that Kirkpatrick will be able to handle it?"

Justin and Lance looked at each other, and said, "Nah," at the same time.

"I remember when this movie was in the theaters," Joey said. "It was a couple months after Jamie came to live with you, Lance."

"You only remember it, because she puked on your lap, when Justin and I went to see it, Joey," Lance told him.

Joey shrugged, as the previews flashed by on the television screen. Lance pushed play, when it came to the begginning of the movie.

Chris finally spoke up then. "What is this movie about, anyway?"

"A witch," Lance said at the same time Justin told him, "Watch and you'll find out."

Chris sighed.

A girl with long brown hair came onto the screen. The screen bounced around, and you could tell, that it was being recorded through a home video camera.

JC leaned over to Justin a couple minutes later. "Is the whole movie recorded like this?" he wondered.

Justin nodded. "Yea, Jace, it is. If you get nauseous, there is a bathroom, down the hall."

"Shove it, Justin."

"Watch the language, Josh. Ex-Mouskateers don't speak like that," Justin retorted.

"Whatever." JC rolled his eyes.

Jamie sighed, as she looked at her watch. "I need to be heading home now, Nick."

"Why?"

"Um, because it's 11:58, and I'm supposed to be home, in . . . let's see, two minutes?"

"Oh, come on, you can stay longer," he told her. He kissed her.

"No. i'm sorry. I can't. I need you to drive m home."

Nick sighed irritably. "I'm sorry."

"Don't be sorry. It's ok. you just wanted me to stay longer," Jamie told him.

"No, you don't understand," Nick spoke, anger flashing in his eyes. "I'm sorry. That I have to do this."

"Do what?" Jamie asked him, leaning back, in her seat.

"Don't worry about it," he said. He grabbed her wrists, and with his free hand, he reached behind Jamie's car seat, grabbed a hand towel, and wrapped it around her mouth, to stop any sound from being too loud.

Jamie's eyes were wide, as she was unable to stop what was coming.
