The media had covered the story, and hadn't left it alone since Jamie was found two weeks earlier. The Daughter of Former 'N Sync Member, Raped and Left For Dead, was what the headlines read.
Lance was afraid of this, and wondered what would happen once she began to remember what had happened.

"Dad?" a little voice asked. Lance looked over at his daughter. Her bed held her up in a sitting position, and she looked especially frail and vulnerable.
Lance gently reached into her arms, and hugged his little girl. "I love you, too, honey," he whispered.
"I remember, Dad." Jamie pulled back, and looked at him, through her piercing green eyes.
"What?"
"I remember what happened. I remember who it was."
"You do?" Lance held her hand in his. "Do you want to tell me?"
"Dad. Would I have brought it up, if I wasn't going to tell you?" she asked him.
He shook his head no. "I'm going to go get the officer, that's assigned on the case."
Jamie grabbed his wrist. "No. Just let me tell you first. Please?"
"Ok. I'll stay. It'll be just you and me."
"Thanks, Dad."

"Do you want anymore, honey?" Mary Foulger asked her son.
Nick shook his head, and finished eating what was already on his plate.
"Do you know how Jamie is doing, dear?" Mary wondered.
"Mary. Quit pestering the boy. He's got a lot on his mind as it is," Mike, Nick's father, said.
"Well, I just wanted to know! Poor girl. Just imagine what she went through."
"Stop it, Mary," started Mike. "If-"
"No, Dad, it's okay. She's got a right to know," Nick spoke up. "She doesn't remember what happened. Because she was in shock."
Nick sighed. A knock came at the door.
"I'll get it," Mike brusquely said.
Mary looked at her son. "I'm sorry."
"I love her, Mom," Nick told her, tears coming to his eyes.
"I know you do." A commotion came from the door. Nick and his mother got up to see what it was.
Two police officers were trying to enter their house, when they saw Nick. One said, "Are you Nick Foulger?"
Nick nodded. "Yeah."
"You're under arrest for the rape and assault of Jamie Bass."
