Chapter 2

"Well hello there, Emily, Maura," Ron smiled, walking to the elevator.

"Hi Ron," they smiled, "We decided to come hang out with Amber and Addie today, we know that they both need some company," Emily said.

Ron nodded, "They sure do, they're both pretty lonely gals." The 3 of them rode the elevator up to the 5th floor, where Amber's room was. They opened the door, to see Amber watching MTV.

"Maura!" Amber exclaimed.

"Amb!" Maura replied. The two girls embraced each other in a hug, "How are you feeling?" Maura asked.

"I'm ok, but I get to meet *NSYNC!" Amber boasted.

"You do?" Maura gasped, "How?"

"For Make-A-Wish, that was my wish, and the lady said that they would do it," Amber answered proudly.

"I am staying with you at all times, I want to meet them!" Maura smiled.

"Even if you weren't here, I'd call you, and make you come over here to meet them. You know I'd do that for you Maur," Amber said.

"So Ad, what do you want to do today?" Emily asked as they wondered through the hospital.

"Probably just stay here with Amber, maybe go out tonight, I want to do something tonight, I'm sick of being the loner who doesn't do anything on Saturday nights." As Addison finished her statement, a group of guys came walking past. Addison and Emily heard them whisper as they passed.

"Maybe this visit won't be so bad," Joey grinned.

"Shut up Joey, that is so not what we're here for," JC sighed.

"So when we're done, we'll go find them," Joey said. The rest of the guys rolled their eyes. They got to their destination, right outside of Amber's hospital door. The only one who knew they were coming was Amber's father, Ron. He met them outside the door.

"Hello, Mr. Orion," JC greeted him, as he shook his hand.

"Hello JC," Ron smiled, "Call me Ron." JC had a surprised look on his face. He was shocked a forty-some man knew his name. "Surprised I knew your name?" Ron laughed, "After being cooped up in a room with Amber for this long, it's kind of hard not to." The guys all laughed, as Ron walked back into the room.

"So, Mrs. Martinez, is their anything else we should know about Amber?" Lance asked.

"Well, she's eleven years old, very friendly girl, but be careful not to mention a mother figure, her mother died 2 years ago," Mrs. Martinez, the Make-A-Wish lady explained.

"Does she have a older sister?" Joey grinned slyly.

Mrs. Martinez laughed, "Yes, I believe she does, if I remember correctly, she's 20 or so, I think."

Joey smiled, and looked towards Justin. "A legal one," he laughed. Justin rolled his eyes, "Shut up Joey, take your mind out of the gutter for once."

"But her sister must have it tough. First her mom dies, then her sister gets cancer," Lance commented, "Her dad too, I feel so bad for them."

"You boys ready to go in?" Mrs. Martinez asked. They all nodded. "You going to make any sort of entrance?" she asked again.

"I guess we could sing as we walked in, it's probably better than just strolling in I guess," JC said, "Or we could stroll in and sing later."

"Jayce, it's not that big of a deal," Chris laughed, "Why don't we just walk in singing, and then give her the bag of stuff we brought later." JC nodded. "This I promise you?" he asked. The rest of the guys nodded and tuned themselves to JC. "1, 2, 3, 4," JC said, and the guys started singing, as Justin opened the door.

"And I will take,
You in my arms,
And hold you right where you belong,
'Till the day my life is through
baby this I promise you,
Ooh, I promise you."

Amber and Maura's eyes shot wide open, as tears filled Amber's eyes. Justin finished the last line, and smiled at the girls. Ron stood next to Amber's bed, and recorded it all on video.

"Hi guys," Amber smiled.

"Hi Amber," they guys said in unison. "How are you?" JC asked.

"Great," she said with the same smile on her face. "Who's your friend?" Lance asked.

"My best friend in the whole wide world, Maura," Amber replied.

"Hello my best friend in the whole wide world, Maura," Chris smiled.

"You can call me Maura," Maura laughed.

"I guess we should go back to Amber's room," Addison sighed, "She'll need some company."

"Yeah," Emily nodded, as they turned around, and walked to the door of her room. Addison looked in the window, and saw a huge group of people circled around Amber's bed.

"Who the hell is in there?" Addison said, "They've all got nice asses!"

"Maybe it's Doctor Wells, and he invited all of his hot friends," Emily laughed.

Addison opened the door and the group of people turned to look who walked in. "Addie!" Amber exclaimed, "*NSYNC is here!"

"Oh," Addison laughed, "Nice guess Em," she mumbled to Emily. Emily and Addison laughed.

"And who are these lovely ladies," Joey grinned.

"I see Joey is already trying to get his mack on," Justin laughed, staring at Addison. The girls laughed at Justin's comment. Addison had curly blonde hair, pulled back in the front, dark green eyes, and her smile could light up a room, along with her one dimple on her right cheek. Emily was about the same height as Addison. She had shoulder length chestnut brown hair, and bright hazel eyes that squinted when she smiled.

"I'm Addison, Amber's older sister." "I'm Emily, Maura's sister."

"Nice to meet you," JC smiled, extending his hand to Emily, and then Addison.

The girls all started chatting with the guys, Amber, Maura, and Ron. Everyone was chatting, and Justin leaned over to Amber's ear level. He leaned over and whispered to her. "How old is Emily and your sister?" he asked.

Amber smiled, and leaned over to whisper to Justin. "Addie is 20, and Emily is 24," Amber whispered back, "Why? Do you like one of them?"

Justin grinned, "Addison," he whispered back. Amber smiled ear to ear. "Hey!" Addison exclaimed, hearing her name being mentioned, "No secrets!"

Justin stood up and smiled at Addison. "I was just telling Amber here how we wanted to take all of you out to dinner tonight," Justin said, "Including Addison." Addison rolled her eyes and laughed. "Is that ok Mr. Orion?" Justin asked.

Ron nodded his head, "Yeah, I'm sure Amber would love a change of scenery. And a change of food, hospital food isn't that great, ya know."

"Well, then it's a date Amb," Justin smiled, kissing Amber on the cheek.

*

"Well, is everyone ready for some grub," Chris asked, ushering everyone out of the door.

"Yeah, Amber replied, "I just hate going out in public, everyone stares at me funny."

"Oh, they're just jealous because they wish they had a cool hair-do like you," Justin smiled, squatting down so Amber could get on his back. Amber climbed on.

"You're still beautiful no matter what your hair looks like," JC smiled, kissing Amber's cheek.

"I want one," Emily whined to Addison.

"I'm sure you do," Addison laughed, "That and so much more."

"So do you think this dinner is to get us or just for Amb?" Emily asked Addison.

"I'm sure a little of both," Addison smiled, "But they seem to be really awesome guys, now I can see why Maura and her like them so much."

"Yeah," Emily agreed, "So down to earth, so nice, and way more better looking than I thought they would be. Do you like any of them Addie?"

"I don't think so," Addison laughed, "I'll probably end up falling in love with one of them, and then they'll die."

"Hey, I've known you forever, and I'm still alive aren't you, and Amber isn't gonna die, she'll be fine, the chemo will be done soon, and she'll be good and healthy," Emily stated.

"Yeah, but still, none of them would want me in the first place, no guys have since, I can't even remember that far back," Addison sighed.

"Oh Addie, shut up," Emily said, punching Addison in the arm, "I saw Justin eyeing you earlier."

"He was probably thinking, gross, the girl with no hair is better than she is," Addison said.

Emily laughed, "You’re pathetic.”

*

"Well, that was a great dinner guys, thank you for the treat," Ron smiled.

"Oh, it's no problem," Justin smiled, "Thanks you for coming with us."

"Anytime," Amber smiled, and motioned Justin to lean down to her eye level. Justin squatted down, and looked her in the eye. "What?" he questioned.

"When are you gonna ask Addie out?" she whispered.

"I don't think she likes me very much," Justin whispered back.

"How do you know? Just ask her, and you'll find out, you'll never know unless you ask." Justin laughed at what good advice an eleven-year old had. Justin took a deep breath and walked over to Emily and Addison who were talking with Joey and JC.

"Hey girls," Justin smiled, "You guys want to go out with us tonight?"

"Where are you going?" Emily asked.

"Clubbing, of course," Joey smiled, "We would love you to join us."

Emily rolled her eyes, "I'm all for it, what about you Ad?" Addison nodded her head, as she bit into her mint.

"Good," Justin smiled, "We'll drop everyone back off at the hospital, and we'll all head over there together."

"All right, just let me tell my dad I'm crashing at Em's place tonight, so I won't come in late and wake him," Addison stated as she walked towards Amber and her dad.

"Did he ask you out?" Amber gasped.

"Not really, we're all going to a club tonight, and dad, I'm just going to stay at Em's so I won't wake you up, Amber is done with chemo right?"

"Until next week," Ron replied, "Have fun tonight."

"I'll try," Addison sighed.
