Plus One to Sing America The Beautiful at DNC

Plus One has been honored with an invitation from Vice President Al Gore to
sing "America the Beautiful" at the Democratic National Convention this
week. The performance is tentatively scheduled for 1pm. on August 16th. It's
unknown whether or not it is going to be televised.
The group, whose youngest member is just barely old enough to vote, have no
direct political affiliations, and accepted the invitation as a great honor
coming from the current Vice President and a chance for tremendous exposure
via the television audience for the convention.
The Democratic National Convention has a history of including Christian
performers at their convention. Past conventions have featured Sandi Patty,
Phil Driscoll and other artists.
Interestingly, the recent Republican National Convention did not feature any
overtly Christian music artists during the many musical interludes and
performances.
