Chapter 10
Ten minutes later Kevin was walking around while A.J. sat on a chair at the desk. Nick sat on the bed. Howie and Brian decided to attend the meeting so they sat on the floor in front of the bed.
“So guys what happened at the club?” Kevin started.
“Nick knew I liked Christin yet he goes after her anyways.” A.J. semi-pouted.
“Yeah right. You never told me her name was Christin or what she looked like. How was I supposed to know?” Nick said pissed.
“Fuck you. You could have stopped flirting with her and dancing all freak-nasty on the dance floor when you knew it was me asking her to dance, So don’t say you didn’t know.” A.J. declared.
Nick got off the bed and started towards A.J. Before he could reach him though Brian and Howie had him by his arms and drug him back to the bed. After they halfway calmed him down, they all sat in silence till Howie spoke up.
“So you mean to tell me that this is about a woman that you may never see again. You don’t know if she already has a boyfriend-”
“She doesn’t” A.J. cut in.
“Ok so you know she is single but that doesn’t mean you’ll see her again. She lives here in San Francisco. We live in Orlando. Plus if she ever did become your girlfriend, she wouldn’t know what she was getting herself into. She would be dating a Backstreet Boy. Pictures of her all over the Internet. Barely getting to see you because while she is here in San Francisco you might be halfway round the world. You know some of your ex’s couldn’t take it. What makes you think she is any different? Huh?” Howie concluded.
“I don’t Howie but- I don’t know maybe you are right. Maybe I should give up.” Nick said. What Howie had said had made a lot of sense. He didn’t want to get burned and he didn’t want another heartbreak. He decided that if he cared anything at all for her then he would just leave her alone.
A.J., who hadn’t heard Nick, but was dwelling on what Howie said, decided to try anyway and see where it got him. He would just tell everyone ok, he gave up. “I guess your right. I mean if I care about her like that, it would be best if I left her alone. I would probably only cause heartbreak to her. Man, your right. Nick, I am sorry bro. I shouldn’t have acted like that.”
“Yeah, man I’m sorry too.”
Each of the guys got up. “Glad that’s over.” Brian said. “Hey Frack, wanna play some play station.”
“Yeah Frick, but I should warn you. You’re gonna get your ass kicked.” Nick snapped out of his mood at the mention of play station.
“In your dreams. You’re gonna down.” Brian ran towards the door.
“Hold up! The game is in my room.” Nick got up and ran after Brian.
