Chapter 12

A.J. sat at the computer, in his hotel room. Christin had just signed off seconds before. He didn’t know why. She was talking to him normally, kinda opening up, and then, BAM, she was mad at him. All he said was he understood about that. Well at least now he knew her screen name. Plus, next time he talked to her, he knew a subject to avoid. He cheered himself up at the thought of talking to Christin again.

A.J grabbed the phone on the table and dialed 411. “Can I get connected to a floral shop? Anyone it doesn’t matter.”

A minute later the other end started ringing…”Flowers-R-Us Kristine speaking. How may I help you?”

“Yeah. I would like to have a dozen purple orchids, a dozen white roses, a dozen red roses, and three dozen mixed flowers in 3 bouquets.” A.J. said while thinking about Christin’s personality and what flowers she might like.

“So that’s a dozen purple orchids, a dozen white roses, a dozen red roses, and three dozen mixed flowers all in three vases? Correct.”

“No. I want a dozen purple orchids in one vase, a dozen white roses in another vase, the red roses in a vase and the mixed flowers and three separate vases. That’s six different vases. I want them in a nice arrangement. Each of them.” A.J. wanted the flowers to be perfect.

“Ok sir. Your bill will be $452.97. Will that be C.O.D. or credit card?”

“Credit Card.” A.J. quickly pulled out his credit card and gave her the information she needed.

“What address do you want those delivered to?” Kristine asked.

“Oh. On the corner of 26th and Orange. 3478 26th St., San Francisco, California, 94110. The company is called The Firm. On the 14th floor to a person by the name of Christin Casey.”

“What do you want the card to say?”

“Just put love your secret admirer. She’ll know who it is from”

“Is that all I can get for you today?”

“Yeah. Thank-you.” He hung up the phone just as Kevin walked in.

Kevin, thinking A.J. was talking about him, asked, “Who was that you were talking to?”

"Oh, I was talking to um…my friend Kristine.” A.J. tried to cover up.

“Oh cool. I haven’t talked to my non-business friends in God knows how long. I’ll be glad when this tour is over. Two more shows and it’s done for a while.” Kevin let out a sigh of relief.

“Yeah Kev. I love you too bro. Seeing you everyday brightens my day too.” A.J. sarcastically remarked.

“You know what I mean, Having an almost normal life. Being able to sleep in my bed. Actually being able to sleep eight hours. You know maybe eat a few meals that don’t come in a sack and have as much grease as food. Sorry but McDonalds everyday, sometimes twice a day, isn’t my idea of eating healthy.”

“What’s wrong with McDonalds? Mickey D’s is da bomb.” A.J glanced down at his watch. “Hey man. I’m sorry but I gotta head.”

“Where you going?”

“Out.”

A.J. left Kevin sitting in the room confused.
