Chapter 27
A few minutes later, they pulled up in front of A.J.’s house. “Just wait here. I’ll be back in a few. Listen to the radio.” A.J. told Christin.
“Yeah. Okay.” Christin said.
A.J. climbed out of the SUV and went into the house. Like A.J. said, a few minutes later, he was back outside wearing a white wife-beater and some baggy pants. He still had on the same shoes though. When he got into the car he asked, “KoRn?”
“KoRn is da bomb.”
“What kind of CD’s do you have?”
“Eminem, Kid Rock, Blink-182, Creed, Stabbing Westward, Limp Bizket, TLC, Destiny’s Child, Blaque, SPM, but no POP groups” Christin commented.
“Oh. Blaque? You have Blaque. Well you know that a pop group sang with them on one of their singles.” A.J. backed out of the driveway.
“Oh the one ‘Bring It All To Me,” with that one group.”
“N*Stink.”
“Okay. If that what you want to call them. But I like the version where the girls sing together.”
“Oh. Okay.” They drove for a while until A.J. pulled the SUV into a parking lot by a building called ‘Tattoos Together.’ They got out of the car and walked in to the business.
“Back for another one. Where ya going to put it, A.J.?” the woman behind the counter asked.
“Well I gotta think bout that. My friend would like a tattoo though.”
“Yeah. Do you have some sample tattoos I can look at so I can figure out exactly what I want?” Christin asked.
“Yeah. Look at A.J.” she laughed. “Naw. We have a book over there on that table.” She pointed to a table with two chairs. Christin thanked the woman and walked over to the table and sat down. A.J. followed her and sat next to her. Christin flipped opened the book and looked at the tattoos one-by-one.
“A.J., I want that one.” She pointed to one that would go around her belly-button. Click here for picture.
“That’s not much of a tattoo but on you I think it would look great.” A.J. told her.
Christin walked up to the lady and told her what she wanted. She paid the woman then signed a few papers. Christin then walked to the back room where the tattoos were done. A.J. looked though the book but didn’t see anything he liked or already didn’t have. About thirty minutes later, Christin came out laughing. She had her shirt pulled down but you could still see the outline of the bandage under the shirt. “Hellor A.J.s” Christin slurred a little.
“Does she have a buzz or am I imaging it?” A.J. asked the woman.
“They gave me a little vvoo…” Christin tried to say the word but couldn’t.
“What did you give her?” A.J. asked.
“We gave her a little vodka to take a way a little bit of the pain.” The lady said.
“How much is a little?”
“Four shots.”
“That’s not a little. That could be a lot to her.”
“Well A.J. you know about taking care of a tattoo. Keep it clean for the first 12 hours. Explain it to her hen she sobers up.”
“Okay.” A.J. pulled some money out of his pocket and gave it to the tattoo lady. He grabbed Christin’s arm and led her outside. He helped her into the backseat of his SUV. Instead of taking her back to Kevin’s house, he took her to his place. When he arrived he helped he walk into the house. He was going to fix some coffee but before he could start she wanted to know where the bathroom was. He explained it to her and she took off jogging for it. When she got in the bathroom she started to vomit. A.J. knew exactly what to do. He, himself, had been in this situation many times before. He started the coffee and got out the aspirin. Christin came out of the bathroom, she took the aspirin and coffee from A.J. “Thank you.”
“No problem.” A.J. replied.
“You know what?”
“What?”
“We should call some pizza orders in. We can pick them up on the way back to Kevin’s”
“Why?” A.J. asked.
“Cause I told Kevin we were going to get some food and he most likely told the other guys.”
“Oh. Okay. Drink up and I’ll call them in.”
“Okiee dokey.”
A.J. picked up the phone and dialed the pizza place. He ordered four large pizza. The person on the other end of the phone told him they would be ready in fifteen minutes. “Okay. Thank-you.” A.J. hung up the phone.
“Let’s go.” A.J. grabbed Christin’s hand. He told her to wait outside while he set the alarm.
“Let me drive, please.” Christin begged A.J. as he walked outside.
“Nope. You might still be a little tipsy and can’t have you drinking and driving.”
“Whatever. Let’s get going then.”
They both hopped in the SUV.
“You never showed me your tattoo.”
“Well you are going to have to wait cause it still hurts a little.”
“Yeah it might be that way for a little while.”
“Well since you are the expert what do I do to take care of my new tattoo. You know the one I got when you were supposed to get another one yourself.”
“Oh simple. Keep it dry for the first 12 hours and don’t pick the scab.”
“That’s simple. Why didn’t I get a tattoo before this?”
A.J. pulled into the pizza place. “Kewl. I will wait right here and listen to…” Christin turned up the radio. “…DMX.”
“Okay, be back in a sec.” A.J. got out and walked into the pizza place. About five minutes later he came back to the SUV carrying two pizza boxes. “Now let’s get back to Kev’s. I am starved.”
“Okay.” Christin smiled. “Oooh. My favorite song.” She turned the radio up more. Christin started to sing along and dance in her seat.
“Sweat, baby, sweat, baby sex is a Texas drought me
and you do the kind of stuff that only Prince would sing about
So put your hands down my pants and I'll bet you'll feel nuts
Yes, I'm Siskel, yes I'm Ebert and you're getting two thumbs up
You've had enough of two-hand touch, you want it rough, you're out of bounds
I want to you smothered, want you covered, like my Waffle House hash browns
ome quicker than Fed Ex, never reaching apex like Coca-Cola stock you are
inclined to make me rise an hour early just like Daylight Savings Time”
A.J. arrived at Kevin’s laughing so hard it was a surprise he was even able to drive.
