Chapter 34
AJ automatically turned on the ceiling light. “Christin?”
“AJ’ers. Where you come from?” Christin said, trying to get out of the bed.
“Here. Let me help.” AJ went to help Christin out of the bed.
“AJ, who the hell is this?” Lilia asked, pissed because Christin was getting more attention.
“AJ, I need to get downstairs. Can you point the way? I’ll leave you alone.” Christin slurred while
trying to walk, but almost falling down.
“I doubt you can make it. Let me help you downstairs.” AJ tried to help Christin walk, but she
couldn’t really even do that, so AJ picked her up and started out of the room.
“Hey! Where are you going AJ? We have to finish talking!” Lilia yelled as she chased him out of
the room, but stopped.
AJ didn’t pay Lilia much attention. He just kept walking, holding Christin. He walked downstairs
to find Kevin and Howie talking, and Nick and Brian arguing.
Ding-Dong
Nick and Brian stopped arguing and both ran for the door. AJ just continued towards the sofa,
where he laid Christin down.
“Uh, Kev, can you come here for a sec?” Nick shouted from th door.
“Sure thing man.” Kevin got up from his seat and started towards the door.
“I’m sorry, but I can’t let you come in.” Brian was saying when Kevin arrived at the door.”
“Why? I told you who I am. My name is Amanda Ashford, I’m a friend of Christin Caseys. She
told me she was here. Don’t you remember me from the club, Nick?” Amanda was really pissed
off.
“Your name is Amanda? I thought you lived in San Francisco.” Kevin started to ask questions to
make sure that this was really Amanda.
“I do I’m here surprising Christin. Are you Kevin?”
“Yeah.”
“Well, can I see Christin?” Amanda asked coldly.
“Sure. Follow me.” Kevin started towards the living room.
Amanda pushed her way past Nick and Brian, and followed Kevin.
When she got to the living room she saw “Alex” huddled over her, asking her questions, while
Christin answered in a slurred or not-understandable speech. Amanda immediately ran over to
Christin.
“Chris, are you alright?”
“Manders? Is that you?” Christin looked around but couldn’t find Amanda. The only person she
could see was AJ, who was standing right above her.
Amanda pushed AJ out of the way and said “Christin, can you walk?”
“Of course Manders, I been walking since I was one.” Christin held up four fingers.
“Of course you have sweety. You you want to go see daddy?” Amanda knew that no matter how
drunk Christin got, she would always be a daddys girl.
“Daddy? Where daddy?” Christin asked, sounding like a five year old.
“Come with me, we’ll go see daddy.” Amanda helped Christin up then gave her a hand to hold so
she wouldn’t fall down. Amanda started to lead Christin to the door, when Kevin yelled.
“Where ya going?”
“To the hotel I’m staying at. I don’t want to leave my best friend here with...” she stopped and
counted. “five drunk men, men she probably doesn’t even know.” Amanda continued towards the
door.
When she got almost to the door, Christin passed out. “Shit. Christin, sweety, wake up.” Amanda
tapped Christins face. “Come on, wake up” Amanda sounded more like a mother than best friend.
AJ was heading back up the stairs, when he saw Christin laying on the floor while Amanda tried
to wake her up. He decided Lilia could wait. “Need some help?”
Amanda jerked her head up to see who he was talking to. Since she was the only one near by, she
assumed he was talking to her. “Yeah, that would be great.”
AJ walked over to them, bent down and picked up Christin. “Ok, where to?”
“Blue BMW, parked by the curb.”
AJ walked out the door, towards the car she told him. Amanda opened the car door, and he put
Christin in.
“Well, thank you Alex. That was awfully nice of you.”
“You’re welcome. Umm, am I missing something? You know my name, but I don’t know yours.”
“We met in San Francisco.”
“Oh, Amanda. I remember you now.” AJ shut the car door. “I hope she feels better”
“She’ll have a killer hangover, but she’ll be fine.”
“AJ, are you coming back?” Lilia yelled from an upstairs window.
“Yeah.” AJ yelled back. “Well, I better go.”
“Yeah, I gotta get Christin back to a real bed. It was nice seeing you again.” Amanda walked
around the car, and got in the drivers seat. She started up the car and drove away.
