Chapter 37
Two weeks past. Amanda and Neil left after staying a week. Amanda loved Christins new tattoo.
Niel on the other hand didn’t think too much of it, but what could you expect from her
father.
The only one of the guys Christin has seen is Kevin. He came into her office to work on contracts
and other business. He also took her out to lunch whenever he got the chance. Christin decided to
just stay at Kevins, instead of moving back into her place.
AJ went with Lilia to the doctors. He wasn’t allowed to go in the back with her, so he didn’t find
out that much. He still hadn’t told anyone about it. He was letting Lilia stay with him until they
figured everything out.
Brian had decided to go back to Lexington, Nick had found a new woman to chase, and Howie
was in Dallas visiting his girlfriend.
Kevin and Christin were coming back from lunch when Kevin noticed Christin seemed sad.
“Whats wrong Chris?”
“You know I was sitting here thinking about all the time I’ve spent in Orlando, and how hard it
will be to leave.”
“Leave? Where ya going?” Kevin asked, confused.
“Back to San Francisco.”
“Why?” Kevin asked, pulling into the parking lot of The Firm.
“Cause thats my home. I’ve lived there all my life. You didn’t know that?” Kevin turned towards
Kevin.
“No. I knew you lived in San Francisco, but I thought you moved to Orlando.”
“Nope. I was told I had to come to Orlando for a month.”
“Have you considered staying here? You already have a great place, and if you can’t keep that
place, you could always continue to stay at my place.”
“Kev, its a sweet offer, but my life is back in San Francisco. I mean, all my stuff, my family, my
best friend of sixteen years, thats all in San Francisco. I’ll try to visit, I promise. Besides, you’ll
have to talk to me all the time, me being you’re manager and all.”
“I know, but its not the same, its like I’m losing the little sister I never had.”
“I know, I feel the same way.... except, you being a brother I never had instead of a sister.”
Christin leaned over and gave Kevin a hug. “Hey, I have an idea.”
“What?” Kevin pulled away from Christin.
“Well, since we just pretty much said out good-byes, can we not talk to, or see each other until
after tomorrow? This is hard enough.” Tears were streaming down Christins face.
“Don’t cry. Please don’t cry.” Kevin tried to comfort Christin. “Since all your stuff is at my house,
I’ll pack it up and bring it by your apartment. Ok?”
“That would be great.” Chrsitin continued to cry. She opened the car door, leaned over and gave
Kevin a kiss on the cheek. “Bye Kev.” She got out of the car and shut the door, then walked away
without even looking back.
