Chapter 41

“What?” Christin laughed at AJ’s exitement.

“Well, I have to go to this awards show on June eighth.”

“MTV Music Awards?”

“Yeah.”

“Well, I’m so sure you will just be another face in the crowd.” Christin rolled her eyes.

“All it will be is a bunch of big-headed celebrities trying to out do each other.”

“Your point being?”

“Well, I need someone there with me who-”

“Wait, before you go any further. If you’re asking me to go with you, I’m sorry, I can’t. I already have plans.”

“Can’t you get out of them? This is a once in a lifetime oppurtunity.”

“I’m sorry, AJ I can’t. If you’d asked me three weeks ago, I’d have said yes.”

AJ walked to where Christin was standing and looked her straight in the eyes. “Please?” he whispered softly.

Upon hearing AJ whisper that, and seeing the look in his eyes, it made her knees almost go weak. She was so close to forgetting about Mark, but decided against it. “AJ” she said softly. ”I can’t because-” She was cut off my AJ’s lips on hers. His lips tasted so good. At first she tried to push away, but AJ wouldn’t let her go. After a few seconds Christin found herself responding.

The kiss was so full of passion and want, that it seemed to last forever, in reality it only lasted about five minutes. When they pulled apart they just stared at each other for a few minutes.

AJ knew he shouldn’t have kissed her, but something told him to. Plus, it felt right.

“AJ?” Christin asked softly.

“Yeah?”

“What just happened? I mean, I know what just happened, but how do you feel about it?”

“Well, I feel it was good. I’ve wanted to kiss you for some time now. I’m glad I finally got to. And I hope you now know my feelings and you-”

“I’ve known how you feel about me for a long time, but I didn’t know how far your feelings went.” Christin sat down on a stool.

“Well, I like you- alot.”

“I realize that now.”

“Then go to the awards with me.”

I can’t. I’ve told you that.”

“Why not?”

“You’ll see. You’ll see.”

By this point AJ was angry that after he had opened himself up to her, she was still refusing him. “Yeah, whatever.” AJ walked out of the kitchen and towards the door.

“AJ?” Christin hopped down from the stool and followed him. “Where ya going?”

“Home.” AJ replied as he opened the door and left.

Christin sat down on the sofa and couldn’t help but think she was wrong in telling AJ no.

“Maybe I should call Kevin and ask him what he thinks. But what if he tells AJ? Whatever, if AJ wants to ruin our friendship ‘cause of this, then fuck him.”
