Chapter 54
Friday, Mid-morning
The airport was crowded with girls hoping to see one of the world famous Backstreet Boys. Amanda and Christin took a ca to the airport. They got through the airport thanks to Q escorting them. That was pretty hard though considering when the fans saw Q they thought one of the boys was with him.
Christin and Amanda finally made it to the room where the guys were waiting.
“What are y’all doing here?” Brian asked surprised when they walked in.
“Oh I see. Kevin here invites us and then forgets to mention it to you all to see if it is okay. Kevin, have I told you how smart you are?” Christin smiled at Kevin.
“Shut up. I know I am very smart. I just didn’t know if you were coming or not.” Kevin said.
“I said I was. But since I am being treated with such pleasantness from Kevin over there I think I should have stay in my nice comfy apartment where I can actually walk around. Tell me that you all walked from the entrance to here with all them hundreds of fans surrounding you. That way I don’t feel so exhausted. Fans which aren’t your at that too. Fans that crowd around you and surround you, preventing you from really moving. I did. Did you have fun Amanda?” Christin asked sarcastically as she sat down next to Howie.
“Yeah. I had so much fun being pushed, shoved, and pretty much smothered. We really should do that again.” Amanda answered.
Hearing that out of Amanda shocked Christin. “Why, why, why, Amanda aren’t we just becoming the common smart ass. I’m so proud of you.” Christin burst out laughing.
“Guys, it’s time to board the plane.” A flight attendant walked into the room and announced. “Follow me. We are going to take some back halls.
Everyone gathered there stuff and got up. They all followed the attendant.
Once on the private plane, everyone put there belongings into the overhead compartments and took a seat. Christin listend to her CDs. Amanda and Kevin sat next to each other and talked. The rest of the guys went to sleep except Brian. Just after the plane took off Brian plopped down next to her. “Whatcha listening to?” He asked.
“Marshall Mathers LP. ‘The Way I Am’”
“No offense because I know you probably like that music and all, but I just don’t see how you can listen to that.”
Christin turned it down and began to explain. “Well, Brian. You love to sing, right?”
“Yeah. I love it.”
“Well I love music. Just listening to it. You can tell how that person felt at the very moment that song was written or sung or produces. I can’t sing for crap, but I love to listen still. Up until recently I was very sat in the type of music I listened to. I listened to everything but pop. So actually you helped me broaden my taste. But I will always love hip-hop and alternative music. To me it’s the most expressive music out there. It helps vent your emotions. Anger, love, and pain. It’s the raw side of music I think. But that is only my opinion.”
“It is a good opinion too. I’ve never actually stop to think about it like that. But you even have to admit that songs by Eminem and Blink-182 making fun of other people doesn’t actually allow others to change their opinions that much.”
“You’re right. It doesn’t at all, but you have to understand that with Em that it is better to dis people in his music and not go around and beating the crap outta the people he doesn’t like.” Christin took off her headphones. “Here. Just listen to the music and not the person.” She placed the headphones on Brian’s head and he closed his eyes as he took in the music.
After a few minutes, Christin asked, “So…?”
Brian opened his eyes. “I see what you are talking about now but I still don’t think it is da bomb but I have a new respect for it.” Brian took the headphones off and handed them back to Christin. She smiled.
“Well I didn’t expect you to become Eminem’s biggest fan overnight but at least you gained something from it. That is all I wanted to do. And to also return the favor.”
“What favor?”
“You’ve help me listen to pop and I’ve helped you understand hip-hop music a little better and that deserves a round of applause.” She pretended to clap as Brian laughed quietly.
“Yeah I guess it does.” Brian replied and began to pretend clap too.
“Glad you agree.” She stopped clapping. “Now you wanna help mess with Nicky boy over there.” She whispered as she turned her music up and set it in her lap.
“I’m in. What do you have in mind?” he whispered back.
“Oh nothing much.”
A little while later they had accomplished their mission with a lot of skill.
“You think there will be fans at the airport?” Christin asked Brian.
“I sure hope so!” He laughed.
“We better go sit back down before he wakes up.” They made their ways back to their seats.
“So after you guys finish you have a few days to relax. Huh?” Christin asked.
“Yeah, but I can’t wait until we start touring again. Even though it is hectic and hard, it has a lot of perks. I mean you get to meet so many new people. People that respect you and your career and support you totally. Then there is the whole traveling thing. Not many people can say that they have been around the world at the age of 25. That is something that is amazing to me.” Brian gushed.
“Folks, this is your captain speaking. We’ll be landing at SeaTac airport in Seattle in five minutes. Please fasten your seatbelts and make sure all fold down trays are in there upright position. Everyone please remain seated with your seat belts fasten after the plane has landed until the fasten seatbelt’s sign is turned off. Thank you and thanks for flying Calcost Private Air.”
“Should we wake Nick up?”
“Yeah, but let me do it.” Brian got up and hit Nick on the shoulder and said, “Time to get up. Plane’s about to land.”
Nick sat up. “Yeah man. I’m up.”
Just so it didn’t look suspicious he woke D and AJ up too.
When everyone saw Nick, they knew that Brian must be messing with Nick and didn’t say anything. Amanda was about to open her mouth and tell Nick he had something on his face, when Kevin stopped her.
They weren’t going to go though the airport, their limo and more security was waiting near-by when the plane landed. Along with the extra security that was holding back a few hundred plus fans. The guys didn’t have time to stop and sign autographs, so they ran straight from the plane to the limo. But still the fans saw them. When they saw Nick, they either laughed or thought ‘What the hell?’ or both. By the time that everyone got in the limo everyone, but Nick, was in hysterical fits of laughter. When he couldn’t take it anymore he asked, “What’s so funny?”
Amanda reached into her purse and pulled out a compact and then handed it to Nick.
He took it and looked into the mirror. “WHAT THE…BRIAN LITTREL!!!” He shouted.
“Yeah, Brian. Why did you put make-up on your bestest friend in the whole wide world. Then you let him go out in public like that. You should fell shame of yourself.” Christin burst out laughing.
“Why am I getting blamed? I didn’t do it. It was your idea.” He protested.
“Aw. Can I have something to take this off? Like NOW.” Nick demanded. His make-up consisted of deep red lipstick, blue eye shadow, blush, black eye liner, and black mascara.
“But it looks so lovely on you. Plus I think it makes you look dead sexy. Leave it. People really talk about it then.”
“Christin, I would hate to think you had anything to do with this.” Nick said through gritted teeth.
“Of course not. ME never.” Brian looked at her in awe. “It was only my idea, my make-up, and my expert skills at putting it on you. See I would never do that to you, well yes I would, and I just did. But I so wouldn’t do that to Kevin.” She laughed.
“Just get it off.” He whined.
“When we get to the hotel I have some stuff that’ll take it right off.” Christin said seriously.
“What am I supposed to do till then?” Nick inquired.
Brian replied, “Do us all a favor and hide your face.”
