Chapter 6

“Girl. Slow down. Damn. We are already there. 7:03. Only three minutes late.” Amanda said.

“Duh girl. Sometimes I wonder about you.” They climbed out of the car where the wind was blowing. “Damn my hair is gonna get messed up.”

“Stop bitching. Damn girl. Do you ever stop?” Amanda joked.

“No I don’t.” She stuck her tongue out at Amanda.

“Thank-you.” Christin said to the man who was holding the door opened for them.

“You're welcome Miss.” The young man smiled.

When they got to the front desk, Christin said, “Two under Casey.”

The host looked at the book and said, “Ah yes, right this way Ms. Casey.” The host escorted them to a table for two. “This is your table. Is it alright?”

“Yeah. It’s fine.” Amanda mumbled to the host as they sat down.

A young waiter approached the table. "Your menus. Can I get you something to drink?”

“Oh yes John Paul. I would like a glass of red wine please.” Christin said in the flirtiest way possible.

“Yes madam and for you miss. What would you like?” the waiter asked Amanda.

“Water, please.” Amanda replied as she looked at her menu.

“I’ll be right back with your drinks.” The waiter walked away.

“Christin, what’s up with you flirting with the waiter.?.”

“What’s up with you not flirting with the waiter? He’s kinda cute.”

“Cause unlike you, I believe in finding one guy and sticking with him.”

“Oh and who might that be?” Christin ignored the first part.

“No one.”

“You have someone in mind. I can tell it. Who might you have in mind?”

“He is no one you know.” Amanda lied.

“Yeah he is. Good clue. Oh yeah, you’re a bad liar.”

“Whatever. I haven’t had as much practice as you.” Amanda said trying to change the subject.

“Alex. You wanna get with Alex. You didn’t like anyone yesterday-”Christin was interrupted by the waiter with their drinks.

“Red wine for the lady and water for you miss. Are we ready to order?”

“Yes we are. I’ll will have a Caesar salad and you will have…” she indicated to Amanda.

“Um…I think I will have to same.” Amanda said politely.

“I’ll be right out with your orders.” The waiter walked away.

“I'm right though ain’t I?” Christin asked in an I’m-so-right’ tone.

“About?” Amanda asked like she didn’t know what she was talking about.

“About Alex. Admit it. I’m right.”

“Ok. You're right. Happy? Now here comes our food. Shut up and eat."

The waiter came and placed the food in front of them and asked, “Is that it ladies?”

“Yes. Thank-you.” Amanda replied. Then the waiter walked off.

The girls ate quickly by the time they had finished, freshen up, and paid the bill, it was eight o’clock.

“Well we might as well leave right now. It will take 45 minutes to get there without traffic.” Christin said as they were walking out of the restaurant.

“How do you know we’ll even get in?” Amanda asked.

“Cause I’m smart. If it is a guy, show some skin and you're in. If it’s a girl, just give her these.” Christin dug though her purse and pulled out her two backstage passes to the Backstreet Boy concert. “I got these from John. I don’t wanna go cause I really don’t know their music. And besides that fact I will be gone that morning. The concert is Tuesday.”

“Hey, if it’s a guy can I have the passes so I can sale them at school? Please?” Amanda begged.

They had arrived at the car. Christin pulled out her keys, unlocked the door and got in and pushed the button to let Amanda in. Amanda climbed in and asked again, “So can I have the passes?”

“If I don’t have to give them away, sure. They are all yours. I wasn’t planning on using them. Now if it was Eminem or Blink then HELL YEAH BABY!!” She pulled out of the parking lot and on to the highway.
