Chapter 2: Lunch
"I would like the All American, medium done with fries, with the cheese on the side," Liz ordered from the menu.
"Sure, I'll be right back with your food," the waitress said politely. She smiled and walked away. Brian and Nick turned to Rachel and Elizabeth.
"So how was your trip here to Florida?" Nick asked.
"Bumpy, to say the least. But it was worth it" Liz said. She smiled at Nick and he blushed. Brian saw him and snickered.
"What?" Nick asked.
"Oh nothing," Brian replied with a smile. "By the way, we're all going by AJ's house tonight, he's having a party."
"Great! I can't wait to see the rest of the guys!" Rachel exclaimed.
"So are we going back to Tampa or are we staying at Brian's tonight?" Liz asked Nick.
"It's up to you. I don't know if we'll want to drive all the way back to Tampa after the party, though," Nick said to her.
"Well you guys are always welcome to stay at my house, anytime. There's enough space," Brian told the couple.
"Let's just stay at his house," Liz decided.
"That's fine with me, you don't have to twist my arm," Nick assured her. Nick, Rachel, and Liz talked happily as they ate, but Brian sat in silence. He didn't know if he should ask Rachel what he'd been planning to ask her for the past week, he didn't know whether to do it there or in private.
"Eh what the heck," he said.
"What?" Rachel asked.
"Rach....will you marry me?" Brian asked with a big smile on his face. "I know I should have made this a private, romantic thing but I couldn't help it, I had to ask you right here, right now!" he explained.
"I....umm....uh..." Rachel was at a loss of words for a moment. She couldn't believe this was happening. She thought about asking if he was serious, which he hardly ever was. She took one look at his face and she knew he was. "YES!" she finally blurted out.
"Oh how sweet," Liz cooed. Nick looked at Elizabeth and hoped that would them someday.
"Congrats Frick!" Nick said.
"Thanks!!!!" Brian exclaimed. "Since you guys are the first to know, we should have you be our Maid of Honor and Best Man."
"Rach is this OK with you?" Liz asked.
"Why not?" Rachel replied with a big smile.
"What a day," Nick said. They paid for the food and left in hurry to go tell evryone else.
