Chapter 1: I Bet You!
"Yo B-Rok, we're gonna miss our plane if you don't hurry it up!" Nick yelled.
"Sorry, Nick....just give me a minute!" Brian shouted back. He turned his attention back to the phone he cradled on his shoulder. "Well, I guess I'd better get going. I love you," he said softly.
"I love you too! Listen, tell everybody I said hi. And I'll see you guys in a few days, 'kay?" Rachel asked.
"Sure thing, babe. Bye."
"G'bye!" she replied. Brian hung up the phone.
"For God's sake, cut the mushy crap!" Nick exclaimed, rolling his eyes.
"Just wait 'til you fall in love, buddy. You'll be just as mushy as Rach and I," Brian said.
"I will not be mushy," Nick stated as-a-matter-of-factly.
"Really....wanna make a bet?" Brian asked curiously.
"Yeah, fine. But you know you're gonna lose....the next girl I meet that I like, I'll ask her out. Then we can play it by ear," he agreed.
"OK, it's a bet!" Brian said, grinning from ear to ear.
