Chapter 2: 3 Days Later
"Why do I have to come with you to pick up the Backstreet Boys?" Elizabeth asked. "There'll be tons of teeny boppers and I don't want to be seen with them!" she whined.
"Just chill out! I want you to meet Brian," Rachel explained.
"I can meet him some other time," Elizabeth assured.
"No, you're meeting him today. Oh, by-the-way, we're going to their concert Saturday night, 'kay?" Rachel asked.
"Great....I love how you make plans and just forget to tell me, cuz!" Elizabeth exclaimed sarcastically.
"Jeez Liz! I forgot this once, I'm sorry....don't go freaking out on me." Rachel pulled the minivan into the airport's designated spot for pickups. She unlocked the doors and Elizabeth watched as 5 young men made their way through the crowds towards the van unnoticed. They opened the doors and jumped in.
"Hey Rach!" the tall one greeted as he sat down in the middle seats.
"Yo Kev! What's shakin'?" Rachel asked.
"Nothin'," he replied. The 2 guys farthest in back piped up.
"Man, that had to be the roughest plane ride I've ever been on," they said simultaneously.
From the front seat next, Rachel laughed. "AJ, Howie, I think you guys have been around eachother too long when you start saying the same thing," she joked.
"Nice to see you too, Rach," AJ chided.
"Hey!" Rachel exclaimed, ignoring AJ. "I missed you," she said, hugging the guy in the seat behind her. He kissed her softly.
"I missed you, too."
Elizabeth looked at her cousin skeptically. "Oh....Liz, this is Brian. And that's Kevin, AJ, Howie, and Nick. Guys, this is my cousin Elizabeth," Rachel introduced. There were a few murmured hellos exchanged and Rachel pulled the minivan away from the airport.
"Whatcha doin', Nick?" Elizabeth asked the blond sitting behind her.
He looked up from his game. "Huh? Oh, I'm playing Tetris," he explained.
"That's a fun game, I have it at home," Elizabeth continued. She was hoping to start a conversation.
"Yeah," was all Nick said. He blushed slightly and went back to his game, pretending nothing was wrong.
"Oooooo, look's like Nicky's been bitten by the love bug," Howie chuckled softly. AJ nodded in agreement. Rachel's cousin had definately caught Nick's eye.
