Chapter 4: Nervousness
"Rach what should I wear?" Elizabeth asked nervously.
"Liz calm down! What you have on is fine....trust me. It’ll knock his socks off,” Rachel reassured.
"Cuz, I really really really like him. What if everything goes wrong? What if I screw something up?” Elizabeth panicked.
"You'll be fine, you’re not gonna mess anything up, just chill," Rachel said. Just the, the doorbell rang. “I’ll get it!” Rachel yelled in a singsong voice as she answered the door.
“Hey, Brian!” she said happily, enveloping him in a hug.
"Hey, Honey," he said happily. He gave her a soft kiss on the lips.
"Where's Nick"? Rachel asked, noticing he wasn’t around.
"Oh he's still in the car....he is soooooo nervous!” Brian said with a smile, remembering their first date. “Remember our first date?” he asked.
Rachel smiled thoughtfully. “Yeah, you took me to that cute little Italian restaurant down by the lake….and you succeeded in spilling the $40.00 a bottle wine all down the front of your suit!" she laughed at the memory. “You know what? Liz is really nervous too. Turns out she’s liked him since the day they met.”
Brian nodded and held Rachel’s hand as they watched Nick walk up the driveway.
"Hey Rach," Nick said when he came in the door. "Is she...." he started. Elizabeth walked into the foyer. "Oh, hi Elizabeth," Nick greeted shyly.
"Hi Nick," she replied softly.
"You look awesome Liz!" B-Rok complimented.
"Well thanks to your girlfriend. If it wasn’t for her, I’d probably be a nervous wreck!” Elizabeth joked.
Taking Brian’s cue, Nick said, "You do look very nice, Liz.”
"Thanks," she smiled and blushed.
"Ready?” Nick asked.
"Ready as I’ll ever be!" she confessed. He held her hand as they followed Rachel and Brian out the door.
