Chapter 5: The Date
After dinner, Brian and Rachel went back to her place. Nick and Elizabeth saw a movie. "So the movie was good?” Nick asked.
"Yeah it was," Elizabeth replied. They sat in his car and it got quiet. They’d run out of things to say. This is the part in movies when they kiss, Elizabeth thought to herself. Nick looked at her and leaned closer and was just about to kiss her, when his cell phone rang.
“Dammit!” he yelled, cursing the phone that rang at exactly the wrong time. He composed himself and opened it. "Hello?” he asked. "Hey Aaron, I'm kinda on a date is this important?"
"Nick talk to your brother....it's ok,” Elizabeth assured.
"You sure hun?” he asked.
"Hun?” she repeated in surprise.
"Um I meant Liz," Nick said, blushing.
"Yeah I'm sure. Go ahead," she replied, laughing at his red cheeks.
"Ok. Uh huh. Yup. Luv ya! Bye,” Nick hung up the phone. “Well Aaron just wanted to say hi," he relayed.
“Oh, that’s nice of him,” Elizabeth observed.
"You’re coming to our concert tomorrow, right?” Nick asked.
"Yeah, Rach and I will be there. Brian even got us front row seats!” she exclaimed. When they got to Rachel’s house, where Elizabeth was going to spend the night, Nick walked her up to the door.
“Well, that was fun,” he stated.
“Yeah, it was. I hope we can do it more often,” Elizabeth agreed. Nick smiled and kissed her lightly on the cheek.
“Good night, Elizabeth.”
“Good night, Nick.”
