Kevin's 25th Birthday(Saturday October 3rd)~~~~"Nick, Maria what are you doing here" Kevin asked as he opened the door to reveal Nick and Maria standing there, sort of dressed up. "First happy birthday" Maria said. "Thanks" "second, we're here to take you to your birthday present" "if that is just an excuse to get me to leave it's not going to work" "Kev, you just can't stay in this house. Nobody has seen you after you would leave the studio or video shoot" Maria said. "That's none of your business" Kevin replied. "Seriously we are going to take you to your birthday present, now go change into nicer clothes" Nick replied. "What I don't look good" "You look fine, if we were taking you to the beach, but it's not the beach. Trust me your gonna love this present" Maria said.

An hour later~~~Nick, Maria and Kevin walked into a fancy restaurant. "Reservations for Carter" Nick said to the host. Then he bent down and whispered something to him. A waitress came up Nick and Maria, and another came up to Kevin. Kevin looked at Nick and Maria suspiciously. Nick and Maria followed the first waitress, then Kevin followed the second. Nick and Maria were seated at a table right next to the window. "Hopefully this is going to work" Nick whispered to Maria hopefully. "Here is your table, sir" the waitress said to Kevin, then left. He looked over at Nick and Maria again, who smiled innocently. Then he realized somebody else was sitting at his table reading a menu. He figured that they set him up on a blind date. Kevin sat down. The person across from him put the menu down. "Katie?" he asked. "Kevin?" she replied. "I think, Nick and Maria were playing matchmaker" Katie said. "I think so, I've missed you" Kevin replied taking her hand in his. "I've miss you too. Happy Birthday"

Nick & Maria ~~~~"It looks like our little plan worked" Nick said looking over at the other side of the room where Katie and Kevin were having dinner. "Yeah it does, what I don't understand is why Brian and AJ did that to them" Maria replied. "I have no clue either. If they really love each other and make each other happy, who cares" Nick said. "Thank you. This is really one of the best birthday presents I have ever gotten" Kevin said walking over to Nick and maria's table, holding Katie's hand. "Your welcome" Nick replied. "You 2 were miserable without each other, I don't understand why Brian and AJ can't accept that you two were going out. We won't tell anybody" Maria added. "Thanks again, but we gotta get going" Katie said smiling. "Of course" Maria said knowingly. "Why, you didn't even have desert" Nick said confused. "Nick, we are going to have desert, but it doesn't come in the form of ice cream or cake" Kevin said. Nick still looked confused. "It comes in the form of whipped cream and cherries, and chocolate sauce all poured on a body....yummy" Katie said. "I'll explain it to him, bye" Maria said. Kevin and Katie left.

That Monday~~~"I sure hope Kevin is in a better mode this week" Brian said. "Me too" AJ replied. "Me 3" Howie added. "I'm sure he will be" Nick replied. After Katie and Kevin had left the restaurant on his birthday, they went back to Kevin's house and stayed there all night and all day and night Sunday. Kevin only left the house to go to a CVS. A little while later~~~"Kevin's an hour late. That's not like him" Brian said looking at his watch. "3....2...." Nick started. "Sorry guys" Kevin said walking into the studio. "Your normally on time, what happened" Brian asked. "I was busy playing with my birthday present" Kevin replied, smiling. "Kev, you turned 25. 25 year olds, do not play with birthday presents. 5 year olds do, but not 25 year olds" Brian said. "But this kind of present you don't play with it, you "play" with it" Kevin explained. "So I take it, you 2 had fun" Nick asked. "a lot of fun. We didn't even leave the house, except to go out to a drug store" Kevin said smirking. "Way to go" Nick replied.

July 1998 ~~~~~ "Nick will you calm down" Brian asked. Nick was pacing back and forth on the tour bus. "Why don't you go play Nintendo or pull a prank on Kevin" AJ suggested. "Don't feel like it" Nick replied. "What? Nicky doesn't want to play Nintendo or pull a practical joke on Kevin? Do we need to call 911" AJ said laughing. "Ha, ha, ha" Nick replied. "What's wrong" Howie asked. "It's Maria's 18th birthday in a week and I have no clue what to get her" Nick said finally sitting down. "Have her come on tour with us for the whole, thing so you don't keep annoying us" Brian suggested. "She's going to college in Florida State in September, besides that's not even a birthday present" Nick said. "How bout money?" "Or clothes?" "Or hair dye or pay for her to get a tattoo?" "AJ!!!" Nick yelled. "Sorry" AJ said. "Why not ask her to move into your new house. You 2 have been going out long enough and your house is about 20 minutes away from FSU, so she doesn't have to move into a dorm" Kevin suggested walking into the back of the tour bus. "That's not a bad idea, but I still would have to get her something else" Nick said.

Maria's birthday (July 7th)~~~~ "Nick it's beautiful" Maria whispered to Nick. They were back in their hotel room after her party. Nick had just given a sliver ring with a small diamond on it. N&M was engraved inside the band. It wasn't an engagement ring. "That's not all. Maria, will you move in with me. I already asked your father and he said yes" Nick asked. "Of course, I'll move in with you" Maria replied and kissed him. Nick kissed her back and picked her up and carried her over to the bed, where he gave her another kind of birthday present.

Towards the end of the BSB tour ~~~~~ "thank god we have 5 days off" Brian said in the elevator. "Yup" Nick agreed putting his arm around Maria's waist. At the end of the 5 days she was going back to Orlando to start college. "The part that sucks is that we can't leave the state" Kevin said. "Why would we want to leave. We're in Las Vegas" AJ said grinning. "I miss somebody special" Kevin replied. "Whatever, don't talk to me about relationships. I just don't understand them" AJ said as the elevator doors opened and he walked out followed by the rest.

Later that night ~~~~ "Hey come in" Nick said and let Kevin in. "So, your made that you can go out to Paris, to see Katie" Nick said. "Yeah, but she just called me. She's gonna be in Vegas in 2 days' Kevin said. "Thank you god!" Nick said. "She's my girlfriend not yours" Kevin said. "Yeah but after you guys, get back to her hotel room and do whatever, the next day you won't be in a pissed off and grumpy mood" Nick explained. ‘Oh" "Who won't be in a pissed off and grumpy mood" Maria asked walking into the room. "Kevin, Katie's gonna be here in 2days" Nick said. "Oh, good" Maria said. "Am I really that bad, once Katie and I haven't been together in a few weeks, let alone 3 months" Kevin asked. "Wait, don't answer that, but I need your opinion on something" Kevin asked pulling something out of his pocket. "Do you think Katie will like this" he asked opening the jewelry box. Inside was sliver necklace with a diamond heart pendent. K&K was engraved on the back. "Of course she will" Maria said. "Yeah probably, don't girls like that kind of stuff. I'm not the romantic type" Nick said acting like a man. "You were acting all romantic, just last night" Maria said to Nick. "I only act like that for you" Nick replied kissing her. "Excuse me, I'm still here" Kevin said. "Sorry" Nick and Maria said. "Kev, why did AJ and Brian break you guys up in the 1st place" Maria asked. "I have no clue, they won't tell me why. And it sucks that we have to keep in secret except for a few people" Kevin said. "If they hadn't broken you 2 up, you were gonna tell the world" Nick asked. Kevin nodded. "Why don't you tell the world now?" Nick asked. "Cause if we did say go the upcoming VMA's together. AJ and Brian are gonna see it" Kevin said. Nick looked confused, then suddenly understood it. "Ohhhh I get it"
