"Please say yes, Katie I want you to be my wife, you and Haylye make me so happy. I love you....I was just too stupid to realize it" Nick said with tears starting to fall down his cheeks. "Yes Nick, I'll marry you" Katie replied in just a whisper but Nick heard her loud and clear. Nick took the ring out of the box and slipped it on her left ring finger, then kissed her. "I love you too" Katie replied and kissed him back. While kissing, Nick picked her up and carried her to her bedroom to celebrate their engagement.
Over the next few weeks~~~~~Nick asked Katie to move down to Orlando with Hayley. She accepted. Once Katie and Hayley moved to Orlando. Nick and Katie went looking for a house....together. Brian, AJ, Howie and Kevin were happy that the they got back together and they supported their engagment. Katie's parents were upset in the beginning because their daughter was marrying the man who broke her heart...but they got used to it and eventually were happy for them. Nick's parents were concered because he was engaged just 2 months after his divorce from maria was finalized, but they were happy for him. Deep down they knew that Nick would eventually marry Katie.
Nick's birthday~~~~January 28th 2003~~~Brian and Michele took Hayley for the weekend since Nick's birthday fell on a Friday so that Katie and Nick could be completely alone. They went out to a very fancy restuarant for dinner. While they were waiting for their desert, Katie had to go to the restroom. Nick was looking around the room, when he noticed somebody else sit down at his & Katie's table. He looked and saw that it was his ex-wife. "What do you want" He asked. "It's your birthday and I want to give you a birthday gift that you'll never forget since you are alone" Maria said. "my finacee is in the restroom. I'm gonna ask you nicely first. Will you please leave" Nick asked. "But Nicky, I can treat you better than anybody else" Maria said getting up and sitting on Nick's lap. He went to stand up, but she blocked him. "Nicky, I love you" maria said and kissed him against Nick's will. At the same time~~~Katie was on her way back to the table, just in time to see Maria sit on Nick's lap an kiss him. She took a deep breath and walked over to the table. "Katie?!" Nick said shocked as he pushed Maria off of his lap. She fell onto the floor. "I can't think of anything to say to you so" Katie said and pulled off her engagement ring and put it on the table. Then she left the restaurant, leaving Maria smiling to her self and Nick standing there looking very shocked.
Katie drove around Orlando and ended up at 1 of her guy friends houses. "Katie are you alright" he asked letting her in. She looked like she had been crying....which she was. She hugged him and started to cry again. He moved them over to the couch and sat down. "Kat, what happened" he asked gently. She told him what she saw. He wanted to kill Nick, instead he just hugged her to get her to stop crying. They ended up talking and getting very drunk, so that they couldn't remember what happened or what they did.
The next morning around 10 AM~~~~Katie covered her eyes as the sun shown threw the windows that made her headache worse. She rolled over onto her stomach and buried her face into the pillow. The pillow didn't smell like her perfume or Nick's cologne. She looked at the other side of the bed, just as the other body turned towards her. "Ahhhhh!" they both screamed, then grabbed the covers to cover themselves since they were both naked. "Katie, did we do what I think we did" he asked. "I think we did, we're both naked in the same bed, our clothes are all over the place but I don't' see any used condoms or empty wrappers" she said. "damn" she mumbled. "I remember us getting stoned, then you falling off the couch laughing hysterically, then I went to help you up, then fell on top of you and remember kissing you" he said. She started to cry because of what happened at the restaurant and what she did last night. He pulled her into a hug. "It's gonna be ok" he whispered. "What am I going to do, Kev" she cried. p>When Katie left his house later that day, she decided that in order to have a relationship with Nick, that they both had to be honest with each other, so she was going to tell him that she did sleep with Kevin but that they were both drunk and don't remember it. When she got to her's and Nick's new house, she walked in and saw Maria there cooking something on the stove. She was wearing a pair of Nick's boxers and 1 of Nick's button down shirts, and her hair was a mess. Then Nick walked in with only his green boxer briefs on. Katie stood there looking at the 2. "I guess we know now who Nick chooses" Maria said in an arrogant tone of voice. "Katie, it's not what you think" Nick said. "Nick, I'm angry and upset with you right now. I'm going to pack some of mine and Hayley's things and stay with a friend" Katie said trying not to cry. "How could she trust Nick after this" she thought as she climbed the stairs. About an hour and a half later, most of hers and Hayley's clothes and Hayley's toys were packed. She got them into her car, then went over to Brian's house to get Hayley. "Where's Dada" Hayley asked as Katie buckled her into her car seat. "We aren't going to be living at Daddy's anymore" Katie explained. "Why not" "cause daddy did a few things that made hurt me and made me cry ok, and I don't want him to do that to you ok" Katie said. Hayley didn't say anything. Katie got into the driver's seat and drove Kevin's house. He was going to let them live there, until Katie got a job and her own apartment.
