" Bye everyone!" Sarah called out after saying her good byes. " Come
on...I'll walk you to your car." " Nick, you don't have to?" " No, No, I
must." " Okay...Whatever you say." Nick and Sarah walked quietly and slow
towards the parking lot. Both of them had spotted couples holding hands and
kissing on their way to the lot, making them both think in their minds..." I
wish that were us..."
~~
" Well...Nick, thanks for everything tonight." Sarah spoke, breaking the
silence. " Oh, no problem. It's my pleasure." Nick said. Sarah laughed. "
Listen, I'm sorry for how I raised my voice at you earlier. I shouldn't
have-" " Nick...Don't apologize. I deserved it. I'm sorry for being sarcastic
tonight. I'm not usually like that." " It's okay. I think we both deserved it
tonight." "Yeah. WE sure did." Sarah responded as she leaned against her
car. " I'd love to get together some other time soon Sar..." Nick
spoke...Having that look on his face...The look that Sarah remembered... "
Ya, me too. I...I think we'll have a great time." " Yeah, so do I." Nick
spoke softly, wanting to kiss Sarah goodnight. But, he didn't want to ruin
things between what they had, and had started. Sarah stood there playing with
her keys in her hand, waiting for Nick to say something, or for her to think
of something to say. " You know Nick, it's rude to stare?" " How do you know
I'm staring? You're not looking this way." " Nick, I've got my ways." " Oh, I
know you do. And one of them is that attitude isn't it?" " Oh shut up!"
Sarah exclaimed as she playfully hit Nick. " You're so funny." " Who?" "
You!"
" You who?" " The person standing in front of me that I have completely
withdrawn out of my mind for the past years." " Oh Sar..." " Nick...Please."
" Sar..." Nick said. Looking into her eyes, begging for her to quit
apologizing. " Ugh...Nick, I better go. It's getting late. It's already a
quarter to 1. Lisa is going to have a cow!" " Hey!" " What?"
" Come here..." Nick said as he pulled Sarah in for a hug. " Don't you know
how to give hugs to friends before they leave?" Nick whispered in Sarah's
ear; sending chills down Sarah's back. " O his voice is so sexy...and
deep..." She whimpered to herself. " I guess I forgot this time eh?" She
whispered back. " Ya..." " Well, for the last time, I got to go Nick." Sarah
said as she released her hug from Nick. But, Nick grasped her arm and pulled
her back.
~SARAHS FLASHBACK~
' Here, you need help with that?' Nick asked. ' Yes, please?' Sarah asked. '
Yeah, sure. Just push this, and then this and badabing babda boom, there's
your CD!' Nick said in a funny voice. ' Oh gee, thanks Nick!' Sarah giggled.
Nick didn't give her, her CD right away. She went to go grab it but...' You
know Sarah, I was really impressed with your little performance earlier, I
really liked it. I mean, just the way you made eye contact with the
crowd...and.' Nick stuttered. ' You mean, eye contact with...you...' Sarah
trembled. It was DEAD silence for about 2 minutes. Sarah was thinking.... WHY
DID I SAY THAT! ' Can I have my CD back now?' Sarah asked, as she was
confused on what she just said. As she was about to grab it Nick said...'
Yeah...' And once Sarah went for it...when she grabbed the CD, she grabbed
Nick's hand too. It was so freaky, she went for the CD, and not only got the
CD...but his hand. She felt this weird feeling that she wanted to last
forever, but it couldn't. ' I gotta go, Angel and Lisa are waiting up for me.
Thanks for the help Nick, bye...' Sarah said as she gasped when Nick suddenly
pulled her back to him before she could say stop...
~END OF FLAHBACK~
" Mmm?" Sarah mumbled as she turned to face Nick. " Don't run away from me
Sar...Please." Nick spoke as he ran his thumb down her cheek. " I won't."
Sarah barely whispered, hugging Nick once again. " But I've got to go. I'm
not going to run away from you. You... Found me Nick...Ya caught me." She
utterly spoke softly. Nick broke the silence and softly kissed Sarah on the
cheek. Leaving Sarah stunned.
"Bye Sar..." Bye Nick..." She whispered as she got into her car. She started
it up, and began to slowly back out of the parking lot. She turned up her
music in her car so loud that Nick was able to hear it. As she got her car
near the park exit, she waved and mouthed "later" leaving Nick standing there
in the middle of nowhere in the parking lot.
"She better not run away from me..." He mumbled to himself as he made his way
to the hotel.
