Chapter Four

Elizabeth almost walked right out of the venue just as soon as she walked in. She had already paid the admission, but that didn’t matter to her. She was mostly afraid of BBMak reminding her of Westlife. And she was also afraid of someone in the band reminding her of Shane.
"Elizabeth!" she heard someone yell.
Elizabeth scanned the room, looking for a familiar face. She soon saw Lola coming her way, with another girl behind her.
"I’m so glad you came!" Lola said.
Elizabeth could only smile. For the second time that day, she had the feeling she knew someone from somewhere. This time it was Lola. Elizabeth figured she didn’t notice it before because of Christian. But now she knew Lola looked familiar.
"Elizabeth, this is my friend Jorie. She’s Ste’s girlfriend. Jorie, this is Elizabeth, who got Christian and I back from Alexanderplatz," Lola said.
Jorie and Elizabeth shook hands. Lola took them to the front of the club, right in front of where BBMak would be playing. Elizabeth could see a couple guitars set up by the three stools. Elizabeth, Lola and Jorie talked until BBMak came on stage. When the group came on stage, they had everyone’s attention.
After the show, Lola and Jorie took Elizabeth back stage, where she first met Ste and saw Christian again.
"Good to see you made it here," Christian said when he saw Elizabeth.
"Thanks," she replied.
Elizabeth could feel herself blushing a little. But that was nothing compared to when she saw someone coming down the hall.
"Shane…" she whispered when she saw a dark-haired guy coming down the hall.
He was a way’s away, but when she first saw a fleeting glimpse of him, she thought she was seeing Shane again.
"Shane? Nope, that’s Mark," Christian told her.
Elizabeth simply glanced at Christian, not knowing what to say. But as Mark approached, she realized he looked nothing like Shane. It was only her imagination, or her wishful thinking.
‘But even if he came to Germany for me, he wouldn’t know where to find me unless I was home,’ Elizabeth thought to herself as she was being introduced to Mark.
Before Elizabeth knew it, she had agreed to go out with BBMak, Jorie and Lola. She was their tourguide around Berlin since she knew the area and the language best. She ended up taking them to one of her favorite places, an Irish pub.
"And we’re not the Irish ones," Mark said as they walked in the door.
"Lizzie girl! Brought some friends, I see," the bartender waved from his position.
"Hey Tom!" she waved back, leading the group to the back.
"Hey Mark, what did you mean by ‘we’re not the Irish ones’?" Elizabeth asked when they sat at their table in the back.
"Next week we leave for the States for a month of promotional work with Westlife. They’re the Irish ones," Mark answered.
"Westlife?" Elizabeth nearly choked out.
"Yes," Mark answered, giving Elizabeth a funny look.
But Elizabeth didn’t notice. For some reason, his mentioning Westlife made her heart ache like nothing before. Taking her wallet out of her back jeans pocket, she flipped to the pictures of her and Shane she couldn’t bear to take out.
Lola leaned over and looked at the pictures over Elizabeth’s shoulder. Resting a hand on Elizabeth’s shoulder, Lola looked up at the rest of the group.
"She’s got pictures of her and Shane Filan. Looks like they’re going out," Lola noted.
"Were going out," Elizabeth corrected her.
