Chapter Seven
"I can’t believe I’m doing this," Elizabeth muttered, watching a shipping company take most of her things and put them into a truck.
"Isn’t spontaneity great?" Jorie asked, standing next to Elizabeth and Lola.
"Now you’re absolutely sure that it’s ok with your parents that my stuff is shipped there?" Elizabeth asked Lola.
"It’s fine with them! Just as long as we visit them while in the States," she answered.
Lola, Jorie and Elizabeth were standing next to each other outside of Elizabeth’s apartment building. The only belongings of Elizabeth’s that weren’t being shipped were either in her suitcase, her duffel bag or her purse. Mark, Ste and Christian were at a business meeting, so the three girls were on their own until dinner. That meant they still had a couple hours to kill before they had to meet the guys.
Jorie, Elizabeth and Lola watched the van leave. Then Jorie and Lola followed Elizabeth back into the apartment building so Elizabeth could hand in her keys. The girls chatted while they took a cab to the hotel so Elizabeth could drop her things off.
"At least we leave tomorrow," Lola said as they walked to the nearest subway station.
"Why do you say that?" Elizabeth asked as she checked a map for the best way to get to Savignyplatz so they could do a little shopping.
"I get back to the States for a while. I love traveling around Europe and Asia, but I’m from the States! There are just certain things that I miss," Lola answered.
"I must admit, I’m a little excited to be going back," Elizabeth said quietly.
"You do realize that you’ll be seeing Shane again since BBMak will be touring with Westlife?" Jorie asked.
"Shane!" Elizabeth repeated loudly.
With widened eyes, she looked between Lola and Jorie. In the spontaneity of packing all of her things, she totally forgot to tell Shane she was moving.
"What’s wrong?" Lola asked.
"Shane has no idea what’s going on. In the confusion, I didn’t think to tell him I was temporarily moving back to the States," Elizabeth answered.
"Call him when you get to the hotel," Jorie suggested.
"I’ll call him when we get to Savignyplatz. If I don’t, I won’t be able to get my mind off of it," Elizabeth said.
At Savignyplatz, Elizabeth rushed to the nearest payphone while Jorie and Lola went into a nearby bookshop. In the phone booth, she put in the phonecard and quickly dialed Shane’s cellular phone.
