2 weeks later… day before Valentines Day…
Over the past couple weeks Kevin had been ignoring Kelly. She in turn cried most everyday.
“So Brian, ya gonna ask Bre out?” AJ asked slyly.
“Yeah” He blushed.” I hope she’ll say yes. I mean we are friends after all. Maybe she doesn’t go for that.” He added in disappointment
“She likes you Bri, Becca told me so”
“I guess you’re right”
“Of course I am” Nick boasted. The other guys just rolled their eyes.
“I gotta go. Me and Nicki are going to dinner”
“Me too. Becca and me are planning a romantic night together.
“Me and Mel are going to one of her friends party.”
“So technically I am the only one who’s not busy”
“Yep cuz. Sorry” Brian patted Kevin's back.
“It’s okay. I’ll work on that song.”
“That’s the spirit” Howie teased.

“You coming Nicki?”
“Yeah baby” She walked down the stairs and immediately took his breath away. She had on a long sleeveless black dress and her hair was curled just a bit.
“AJ… AJ” Nicki waved her hand in front of his face.
“Sorry baby, you look wonderful”
“You don’t look so bad yourself Mr. McLean”
“Come on I wanna go before Nick gets here and starts looking at my woman”
“I heard that!” Becca yelled from the kitchen. “He only needs me”
AJ lead Nicki out to his car and kissed her just before the left.

Kevin had been staring at the song for hours. Knowing he wasn’t going to get anything done he put it away. He picked up the phone and dialed Kelly’s private number.
“Hello” she answered with a sniffle.
“Kelly can we talk?”
“Yeah. Just come over”
“Okay. See ya in 10” Kevin pulled up in their driveway. He took a deep breath and knocked on the door.
Nick answered. “She’s upstairs”
“Kelly” She opened the door.
“Okay, I’m sorry for ignoring you. It’s just well… Do you like me?”
“Yeah. It’s just that well my ex Matt was mean and abusive and why do you want me?” She sobbed.
“I really like you Kelly. You’re beautiful and smart and whether anyone agrees with me or not funny.” She laughed.
“Can we really work on this?”
He didn’t say a word. He just pressed his lips to hers. “Does that answer your question?”
“I guess so. Kevin stay with me tonight. Just hold me”

Downstairs…
“Nick, I have an early Valentines day gift”
“Let me see” She handed him a box but before he could open it she stopped him.
“If you don’t like it tell me okay. I can take it.”
“I’ll love it” He opened the box. He laughed a bit. There in the box were red silk boxers with hearts all over them. “Thank you baby” He kissed her.
“Sorry. I couldn’t resist. I just kept imagining what you would look like in them”
“I love them. But you my dear get your gifts tomorrow.”
“Awww.” She whined.
“Don’t worry you’ll love it” He smiled. “Now for our romantic dinner”

Mel and Howie immediately went to the dance floor.
“Howie” A tall blonde girl tapped on his shoulder.
“Yeah?”
“It’s me. Jennifer”
“Oh hi! This is my girlfriend Mel. Mel this is Jennifer.”
“Hi” Jennifer said with a fake smile.
“Hi” Mel said back just as rudely.
“Give me a call Howie” Jennifer wrote her number on his hand.
“Okay. Bye”
“Uh! She is such a bitch!”
“Why? She was always sweet”
“She was so fake. Howie I wanna go home”
“Melly, you know I will always love you. And you only”
She smiled “I guess so”
“How bout we go back to my place”
“Lead the way my sweet”

“Bre can I talk to you?” Brian asked as he walked in the girls’ house.
“Sure”
“Um I was just wondering if you uh wanted to go out one night?”
“Yeah. I guess. When?”
“How bout Saturday?”
“Sure. Bye Bri”
“Bye” He kissed her cheek softly. He flashed her a sweet smile and drove off.

AJ was quiet all through dinner. “AJ what’s wrong?”
“Nothing” he said coldly.
“Fine then”
“Miss can we have another bottle of champagne?” He said giving his most flirtatious smile.
“AJ you promised me” she cried.
“Promised you what?” He said in a stern whisper.
“That you wouldn’t flirt with other girls”
“Oh, but you can flirt with other guys”
“Who?”
“The valet”
“AJ he was completely flirting with me”
“Whatever”
“Can we go?”
“Yeah” The whole car ride home was silent. Each of them were both fuming inside. They walked inside the house and Nicki slammed the door in A.J’s face.
“What happened?” Nick asked.
“We’re fighting again”
“Uh!!!” Becca groaned. “Baby one minute” she kissed him one last time.
“what was going on?” AJ asked playfully.
“Nothing much”
“Just fooling around”
“No AJ! We were making out”
“Not much difference”
“Ass” Nick mumbled under his breath as he walked up the stairs to find Becca.

“Yeah”
“Nicki are you okay?” Nick asked before he walked into her room.
“Yeah was is he always so jealous?”
“You know Marisa cheated on him, right?”
“No, is that way?”
“Probably. Just talk to him.”

“AJ, I’m sorry”
“It’s okay. Marisa cheated on me. I’m scared”
“I know. Nick told me”
“Oh okay. I’m gonna go bye”
“Bye”

“You wanna go to bed now Angel?”
“Yeah, Nicky night-night”
“I love you Becca”
She gasped. “Nicky I love you too” She said with tears in her eyes.
“I’m sorry”
“No baby. Thank you. You made me feel special”
“It’s true. Snuggle time” She snuggled against him nad they both fell asleep.

“Here’s you breakfast in bed and your V-day present”
He handed her the tray. He made heart shaped waffles and strawberry milk. “Nick this is wonder…” She paused. There was a black box.
“No it’s not that! Open it” She opened it. Pink heart on a gold band. “It’s a promise ring. So you know no matter where I am you’ll always own my heart. And I have this for you.” He handed her a medium sized brown bear.
“Thank you. I love you”
“I love you too Angel. Now eat I worked hard on it”

“Shush”
“Kelly wanted me to tell you that we’re having a slumber party tonight”
“Oh okay. Did you two finally hook up”
“Yep. I held Kelly all night long”
