“Nick are you gonna help or just stand there?”
“I’m coming” He pulled a box off of the truck and brought it into her new house. “I still can’t believe we got house right next door”
“I know new idea huh?” He replied sarcastically. Becca and Nick had been friends ever since they were babies in Jamestown. Even when the Carter's moved to Florida Becca’s family moved too, right next door.
“Shut up. It’s nice having you around though”
“I know. I wouldn’t have it any other way”
“Me either. You coming with me to that stupid Jive party?”
“Yeah. I just gotta find something to wear”
“Oh I’m sure you can do it” He teased as he looked into her closet.
“Come get me at 7:00 k babe?”
“Sure”
“Bye” she kissed his cheek and he walked out of her house and into his own.
God I love it when she does that. He smiled to himself.

“Becca are you ready?” Nick yelled from down stairs.
“Yeah” she walked slowly down the stairs careful not to fall. She had a short spag string black dress. She had just slightly curled her hair.
“You look great Becca”
“So do you Nick” He had a pair of dress pants, a gray long sleeve V-neck shirt and a coat. “Are we ready?”
“Let’s go my lovely lady” He held out his arm and she looped her arm through his. He opened the car door for her and they left.

“Nick!” AJ called from the table assigned to the BSB.
“What about me?” Becca pouted.
“We love you too” The table (the boys and their g/f’s) said in unison.
“I say we dance what about you guys?” Amanda asked as her and AJ got up from the table. One by one the couples went to the dance floor. ‘Lady Marmalade’ was playing and all the girls, true to their characters, were grinding with their significant others.
Just as the song ended and ‘Melt Away’ began a guy asked to dance with Becca. Reluctantly she agreed.
“I’m Danny.”
“I’m Becca. Why are you here tonight?”
“My group, No Authority just got signed last week.” He smiled proudly.
God that smile! Becca thought. “I’m here with my best friend Nick. The Backstreet Boy”
“Oh really. Say how bout we sit so we can talk?”
“Sure” he led them over to NA’s table.
“How did you and Nick meet?”
“Our mom’s were friends back in Jamestown. So we’ve known each other since birth.”
“Wow! That’s a really long time”
“I know but I got used to butt head” she giggled. “No, really he’s a sweety”
“Hey Danny we gotta go” one of his band mates said.
“Oh okay. Becca this is Eric, Eric this is Becca” They both shook hands. “How bout I call you later?”
“Sure” she wrote her number on the napkin and handed it to him “Bye”
“Bye” he waved. Becca walked back to the Boys table.
“Ooooh Becca getting some hotties” Claudia (Howie’s g/f) teased.
“Did you see him? He is soo fine. The blonde hair, blue eyes...”
“Whoa stop. You do realize that Nick holds all of those qualities?” Lei asked.
“Yeah but we’d never get together right? Best friends don’t fall in love”
“Yes they do” Kristin (Kevin’s g/f) sang.
“Whatever” she smiled.
“Are you ready to go Becca?” Nick asked.
“Yep” she said happily. She jumped up from the table and followed Nick.

“Hey Nick I got asked out tonight” Nick’s heart sunk.
“Um yeah by who?”
“Danny from No Authority”
“He’s in that new group right?”
“Yeah. Can I stay at your place tonight? My house is lonely” She wined.
He smiled. “Yeah”

“Hey Nick I’m leaving. I’ll be back later.” Becca yelled from her room to his.
“Okay. See ya later” he hadn’t been the nicest person that week. And he wasn’t thrilled that she was going out with him.
“Nick never mind. I’m gonna call Danny and cancel. You go order us some pizza.”
“No you just go with him”
“What do you have against him?”
Should I tell her? I am “He has you” he said very quietly. Becca was silent. She looked over at him. He had a looked that she never hoped she had to see. She didn’t say a word.
I gotta do what I gotta do She walked out of her house and drove straight to Danny’s.

Nick’s house...
God I’m such an idiot!! I knew I should have kept my mouth shut. Then I would be unhappy. Not knowing what to do he called Brian.
“Hey B” he said sadly.
“Dude what’s wrong?”
“I told Becca”
“Oh my God. What happened?”
“She left and didn’t say a word”
“Man don’t worry it’ll be okay” Truth was Brian didn’t know either.
“I guess”
“I’ll call the others and the girls. We’ll have a nice little gathering”
“Sure bye Bri”
“Bye Nick” I hope this works He said to himself as he began dialing.

Becca took a deep breath as she rang the doorbell. “Becca what are you doing here I’m supposed to get you.”
“Danny we gotta talk. Um we gotta break up. I’m sorry I can’t give a better explanation but it’s for the best.”
“Well um okay. I really did enjoy being with you”
“Me too. Well I gotta go. We’ll talk again.” She hopped back in her car and headed back to her place.

“Nick you okay?” Kevin asked as he walked in.
“Yeah I guess” everyone piled into his house and headed straight to the kitchen.
“Come on Nick cheer up.” Kristin pleaded.
“Fine” he smiled fakely.
Becca pulled up to Nick’s house ready to make her decision. Why is everyone here?
“Nick” she called out.
“I don’t wanna talk to you” Nick said coldly. He turned around and walked straight up the stairs leaving behind his one chance on love...
Nick saw her crying. Part of him wanted to run and hold her the other wanted nothing to do with her.Why am soo mad? He realized it. All pain that had been caused when he saw Becca with other guys. He wanted to show her what it felt like. But in return he was pushing away what he wanted most.....
Becca woke up that morning with the most awful headache. She looked her bathroom. No Tylenol. Against her will she went to Nick’s.
“Nick do you have any Tylenol?”
“Yeah” He looked as just as hurt as she was. She brushed a strand of hair out of his face. Nick looked up at her. Yes!!! He leaned in and kissed her. It was soft and gentle. “I’m sorry Becca”
“I’m sorry too”
“For what?”
“For making you my invisible man”
