been working", Raegan replied. Kevin had to laugh. He liked this girl's
sarcasm. "I'd imagine you'd meet even stranger people than me." "None that
have taken me home but don't seem to know why", she said. Kevin looked into
her eyes. This girl was very insightful. She seemed to be reading him just
by looking at him. Yet another thing that intriguied him. "KEVIN!!!!!", a voice
yelled. "GET YOUR CRAZY SOUTHERN ASS OUT HERE!!!!" It was AJ. "Stay here",
Kevin told her, getting up and closing the door behind him.
"Please tell me that this is some sort of joke", Howie
said to Kevin as he came into the living room. "It's not", Kevin replied.
"Why? Why? Why? Why? Kev! You don't even KNOW the chick. What, does a girl
have to shoplift now to get your attention?", AJ asked.  "What's the problem
with it?", Kevin asked all of them. "You mean you don't see one?", Howie
asked, disbelieving. "Seriously, what is the big problem? Besides the fact
we don't know her."  "The fact we don't know her is the big problem right
there, Kev. How do we know she's not wanted for some crime? How do we know she
isn't plotting to kill us right now or something?", Howie counted off the reasons
on his fingers.  "She's not. Trust me." "I would've trusted you before but now
that your sanity is questionable I don't think I want to", Brian said.
"Look, guys, to be perfectly honest, I don't know why I did what I did. I just know
I have this urge to help her. I can't explain it so I'm not even going to try.
You just have to trust me on this one. Alright?" , Kevin told them all,
almost pleading. They all eventually agreed to go along with him on this one.
Raegan heard people yelling. It was about her. All that arguing
was her fault. Just like it seemed everything was her fault lately,
according to her father. From the sound of it, it didn't seem like Kevin was winning
his side of the argument. Raegan didn't want to chance the other guys convincing
him to take her to the police station or to some shelter. Looking around the
room for some means of escape, she noticed all the pictures of what she
assumed were Kevin's family. There were also lots of pictures of Kevin,
Brian, Nick, and 2 other guys. Something told her the 2 other guys were AJ and
Howie, who were shouting at Kevin now.  Deciding to escape out a window, she
gingerly opened it, careful to not make any noise. Lucky for her the ground wasn't
far from the window. After she climbed out and made the short jump down, she
dashed for the next yard.
Kevin was eager to have the guys talk to Marie more. Maybe
she would intrigue them as she had done him. Opening the door, he discovered
she wasn't in the room. Thinking she was in the bathroom he checked in
there. It was then that he spotted the open window. "Shit!", he yelled. The other
guys came walking into his room. "What's wrong?", Howie asked. "She's gone",
Kevin told them. "Should've known", Nick said. "What the hell is that
supposed to mean?", asked Kevin angrily. Nick was taken aback at his anger. "Nothin'.
I mean, it's just, she didn't seem to want to be here." "I'm going to find
her. You guys can help if you want", Kevin said, running for the front door.
"Kevin, it's starting to storm. You can't go out there now", Brian said. "I
can't let her be out there in that storm", was the last thing he said as he
ran out the door. "I guess I'll help", AJ told the others as he ran after
Kevin. "I'll go too", Nick said. "What other choice do we have, D?", Brian
asked. They both shrugged and went after Kevin.
Raegan wanted to cry. It had started to storm and now she was
caught. Rain pelted down on her and soaked through her coat. Her hair hung
in wet strands around her face. The rain was also making it hard to see. She
heard shouts. Turning around, she didn't see she was headed straight for a
tree. The last thing she remembered was someone shouting "Marie!" before
blackness engulfed her.
