Chapter 13

The next morning, Madeleine woke up in Nick’s arms. God, she was uncomfortable! The previous night had been amazing, but sleeping on the loveseat was not the best thing to do. “Nick, wake up!” she whispered. “We’re still here at the venue.”

“Huh?” he mumbled. “How’d we get here?” His eyes opened, and he gasped. “And why the hell are we naked?”

Madeleine’s jaw dropped. “What do you mean, why are we naked? We had sex last night, Nick. Don’t you remember?”

“Holy shit! That really happened? I thought that was just an awesome dream,” he replied. “Don’t get me wrong, Mattie. I have no regrets.”

She sighed with relief. “You scared me, Nick! I thought-”

“Don’t worry, Madeleine. I love you,” Nick interrupted her. “No one came to pick us up yet?”

“No, they didn’t. We’re still locked in here,” she muttered. “I can’t believe she did that to us.”

They quickly got dressed and then resumed their position on the couch. “What are we going to tell Brian if he asks if anything happened?” Nick asked.

Madeleine’s face went pale. “Nothing. We didn’t do anything, got it?”

“I don’t know, Mattie. That’s a pretty big thing to lie about. I think we should just come clean, because he’ll probably find out some other way, and then we’ll be in a lot more trouble.”

“Nick, please! We can’t tell him!” she begged. “This tour means everything to me. If we tell him, I’ll get kicked off for sure!”

“Are you sure that’s what you want to do?” Nick asked.

“Yeah, I’m sure. As soon as we leave this room, nothing happened, okay?”

Nick sighed. “All right.”

“You promise you won’t tell him?”

“I promise.” He pulled her into a hug.

“Thanks, Nick. Thank you so much.”

“Anything for you, my sweet,” he replied. “What about us? What’s going to happen with us?”

“I don’t know,” she groaned. “I don’t think it’s possible to convince my brother that we belong together, so I think we’ll just have to wait it out.”

“But I don’t want to wait! I love you now, Madeleine,” he whined.

Just then, there was a pounding on the door. “Nick, are you in there?” yelled Brian.

“Yeah!” Nick shouted. “Let us out, please!”

“Us? Who else is in there?”

“I’m in here!” Mattie cried. “Please let us out!”

The door opened to reveal an angry looking Brian. “What the hell happened?”

“Will you please calm down? You have nothing to be angry about,” Madeleine groaned.

“What do you mean? You two just spent the night together rather than coming back to the hotel.”

“It’s not like we had a choice, Brian. We got locked in here,” Madeleine muttered.

“How did you get locked in?” he asked suspiciously.

Nick quickly told him what Loryn had done. “Why didn’t you guys come back for us?”

“That’s really what happened?”

“Of course it is!” Madeleine exclaimed. “I wouldn’t lie to you, Brian.”

“Well, we didn’t come back because we thought you two had gone to get food or something after the show. We figured you’d call a cab to get back. I was worried sick when you didn’t show up by morning!” He paused. “I trust you two didn’t do anything last night?”

Nick shot an uncomfortable glance at Madeleine, but luckily, Brian didn’t notice as she answered without even a cringe. “No, we didn’t. I promised you I wouldn’t, didn’t I?”
