“No, I don’t, but I thought you’d have kept him out of her room when you know how heartbroken she is. That’s dumb even for you, Brian,” Leighanne muttered. “You know how much she loved him.”
“Hey, it’s my room, too! I’m not gonna stop hanging out with him just because she doesn’t wanna be by him!” Brian exclaimed defensively.
“You know, there is a little something called playing video games in his room so as not to hurt your little sister even more. Besides, you don’t need to worry about that anymore because she switched to Kevin’s room just to stay away from him.”
“Do you even realize that she’s not the only one hurting? Nick isn’t exactly in the best of spirits, either, and no one seems to acknowledge that.”
“I know he’s hurting, too, but he brought it on himself. She doesn’t deserve it. She didn’t do anything wrong.”
“Whatever. I’m sorry, Leigh, but I can’t help but feel bad for the poor guy. If I were to do something like that-”
“I’d kick your ass and never wanna see you again.”
“My point. I’d be really messed up about it.”
“Yeah, well, I would hurt even worse.”
“I guess you’re right.” He paused. “Maybe I shouldn’t have been such a jerk.”
“Now you’re talking sense. Good night,” Leighanne mumbled.
