She smiled shyly. “I am.”
“Yeah…” He hesitated, and then stepped closer to her. “Listen, I’m sorry about before. I said things I shouldn’t have said, and I should have just left things alone. I’m just glad you’re happy with-”
She interrupted him by pressing her lips to his and kissing him passionately. When it ended, she pulled away, embarrassed. “Sorry.”
“What was that for?”
“I didn’t want to hear you apologizing for expressing your feelings. I don’t know why I did that. I’m an idiot. I-”
This time, he silenced her. Their tongues dueled feverishly, relishing in the taste of each other they had been missing for so long. He moved his lips to her ear. “Wanna go back to the hotel?”
“Yeah,” she whispered. There were several limos waiting to bring people back. Nick and Madeleine hopped into one. The entire way back, they made out in the backseat, so involved in each other they didn’t even notice when it stopped.
When they reached his room, she pulled his face to hers. “I love you.”
“I love you, too,” he replied.
