To J, My Best Friend
This is to my best friend
We've been through a lot together and know each other but than we know ourselves. He recently left to go to marines boot camp... Now was really not the best time for him to leave. His mom is in the hospital with cancer and it's not looking too good. I haven't seen him since prom night. That was almost six months ago. I was looking forward to seeing him when I got home next week but he had to leave a coupla weeks early. So I sat up thinking about everything and this is what came out.*Note* this was written in December, 2000.
Thru thick and thin,
that's what friends are for,
but it seems as though we'll never win.
We fight to keep our sanity,
but only time will tell.
If not one thing, another.
Life can't be easy,
no not at all,
but what can we do,
but wait for the fall?
I'll be there for you,
if you are there for me.
Without a doubt,
I love you with all my heart.
I depend on you for everything,
you are my rock,
my solid foundation
on which i stood.
Without you I would've fell.
But now it's my turn,
I am your rock.
Will I be able to stand for us
or will I let you down?
Only time will tell.
You were there for me,
Now I must be for you
Will I be able to make it,
only the future knows for sure.
