It was 10:00 at night. The guys had just finished a concert and were in the hotel. They were doing what they do after every concert, sitting around and talking.
"Man that was great. By the way, what were you doing with the video camera in the pit Kari?" asked Brian.
"Well, I was taping because if I ever go back home, I can show my school what I do on road trips." she replied.
"But Orlando already knows what our road trips look like." said Nick confusedly.
"Not that home. My real home." she said with a sigh.
"Oh. That home. Well, be ready to edit it pretty soon because we're heading that way." said Brian with a smile.
"Really? I'm really going home?" Kari said with excitment.
"Scouts honor."
All of the sudden, they heard the phone slam in the next room. A.J. came into the room all mad for some reason.
"What's with you?" asked Nick.
"I just had a huge fight with Amanda. She was all up tight about me not calling for three days. Why do girls always freak out when ever you don't call?" grumbled A.J.
"Yo, girl sitting right here. What I don't get is why do guys make a promise and know their never going to keep it? shot back Kari.
There was a knock at the door. Nick went and answered it. It was only Kevin and Howie.
"Hey guys. What's going on over here? We heard a bang and thought one of you killed one another." said Kevin.
"No. A.J. got into a fight with his girlfriend. Now we're having a debat on why girls and guys do the things they do."
"That's right. I just don't get them. I wish I could spent one day as a girl to figure out what makes them tick." said A.J.
The guys looked at each other.
"Well... don't you guys agree with me?" he asked.
"Yeah. I guess that would be an experience to remember. That way, we can keep our girls happy." replied Brian.
"Well, I wish I could spent one day as a guy. Guys are so werid and they find the oddest thing interesting. My boyfriend right now is a diehard Three Stooges fan. I don't even find that funny." said Kari
"Wait a minute. You have a boyfriend? Since when?" asked Howie.
"There's one of the reasons it would be a werid experience. You guys would forget your heads if they weren't attached to your bodies." snickered Kari.
The guys sat in silence for a minute. Then A.J. got up and wented for the attached door.
"Where are ya going?" asked Kari.
"To bed. And I suggest all of you guys to the same. Goodnight." and he shut the door.
The guys got up and left except for Howie.
"What is your boyfriends name?" he asked.
"For the 50 billionth time. It's Erik von Detten." She replied
Authors note* That was the only name I could think of . Sorry.
He left her room and shut the door. She got into her P.J.s and climbed into bed.
"Girls are uptight huh. Shows what he know." she said to herself while turning out the light.
Part Two
"It's 7:30! You listening to k105 the best new music. Here a new one from the Backstreet Boys called The One.
I cna guess
you were lost when I met you
Still there
were tears in your eyes.
*click* Kari turned the radio off. It was a little early but it gives all of them time to see the city one last time. She stumbled out of bed and walked slowly to the bathroom.
"AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!" The person she saw in the mirror was not her. It was a 14 year old boy with long blond hair and blue eyes. He looked a lot like Nick
"OH MY GOD!" she said, but it was not her voice. It was a guys voice.
She heard a scream coming from A.J.'s room. She ran over and opened the attached door.
"A.J.? What happened?" she shouted in her now deeper voice.
"Who's there?" a womens voice came from the bathroom. A women came out of the bathroom. Of course it was A.J.. He now had long dark hair and all of the girlish features.
"Kari? Is that you?" he asked.
"The one and only." she replied.
"Oh my god! Do you think the same thing happened to the others? A.J. said, his eyes wide.
"I don't know. We better check." she said.
They went out into the hall and knocked on Brian's door.
"Who is it?" They voice was not Brian's.
"It's us, open up." said A.J. The door opened slowly. Brian, Nick, Howie, and Kevin were all in the room. And yes they were all girls. Imagine that visual.
"You guys too?" shouted Kari.
"WHAT IN SAM HILL HAPPENED TO US?" yelled Nick.
"Well, we all wished we could be the opposite sex for one day. Our wish came true so we're stuck like this for a day." explained A.J.
"You mean we have to go out in public looking like this? No way!" grouched Nick.
"Its not like anyone will be able to know its us. Unless everything else changed around us." said Kari.
"Good point"
"And what do expect us to wear out in public? We got nothing that will fit us now!" cried Howie.
"That won't be a problem." Brian said standing over his suitcase. Everything in it was for women. Tank tops, mini skirts, flares, you name it.
"Well, at least we have our little fastion consultent. Any ideas Kari?" asked Kevin.
She helped each of the "girls" pick out an outfit. Then she had Brian help her with clothing. She didn't trust A.J. enough. All of them came out of their rooms at pretty much the same time.
"Oh boy. I don't know how you can wear these shoes Kari." winced Kevin. All of them were wearing those cute platform sandles with flared jeans and meduim tops. Kari was wearing baggy jean shorts, long t-shirt, and tennies.
"You get use to them. I don't know how you guys can wear these shorts. There almost pants!" exclaimed Kari.
"Lets just go. We have to be out of the city by 4:00 this afternoon and we want to take in as many sites possible."said Howie.
"Man, I going to feel like a spice girl walking down the street" whinned Nick.
"Oh shut up butch, you never looked prettier." laughed Kari.
"Remind me to hurt you." he shot back.
Part three
"I don't know the last time we could walk down the street and not be noticed. This is cool." whispered Brian.
"Opps. Looks like you spoke to soon." Kari whispered back. A bunch of girls came up to them.
"Hi! You must be the Backstreet Boys new girlfriends. I read all about you gals." said the first girl.
"Yeah" said the other one. She looked at Brian. "You must be Brianna. Hows Brian doing?" she asked.
"Umm..just fine. Thank you." he replied.
"Well, look at the time, we must be goin'. bye!" And the girls left. A.J. looked at Brian cock eyed.
"Brianna?" he giggled.
"Good thing that girl mentioned that. No one can know our real names. So when you have to say your name, us the one I give you." said Brian.
Kevin was Keavy, Howie was Hannah, Nick was Nicole or Nikki, Brian was Brianna, and A.J. was still A.J. but his full name was Alexandra Jamie.
"What are we going to call you?" Brian said looking at Kari. They thought a little bit.
"We'll call you Kyle." exclaimed Nick.
"Thats a terrible name, but I guess it sticks." said Kari.
"You guys, where did Howie go?" asked Kevin.
"Who? Oh yeah!" all of them said at the same time. They looked around.
"Shes over there!" shouted A.J. Sure enough, he was. The sign above the store said "Prom and More"
"What are you doing?!" yelled Kari.
"I don't know. something about this store brought me to it." explained Howie.
"Oh, that is the cutest dress! I wonder if it comes..." Nick stopped himself. "What the heck am I saying?!"
"Thats normal. Us girls have impulses to want the best dress to wear in public. I don't recommend us going by Pacfic Sunwear, to many signals." explained Kari.
"OH." all the guys said together. They kept on walking around the town. The guys seem to notice men staring at them. Kari also notcied girls pointing at her. Then one fo the girls walked up to her.
"Hi! Was your name?" she asked.
"Kar...Kyle." she caught herself.
"You want to go to the midnight dance tonight? I know we just met, but your really cute and I need a date." she begged.
"Actually, My sister, her friends and I are going to be leaving town in a few hours. Sorry." said Kari.
"Oh." The girl sighed and left grumbling to herself. Kari turned to the others.
"I hope this isn't how I act with guys." she laughed.
"Don't speak to soon, here comes her older brother." whispered Kevin. Sure enough, there the girls was with a huge guy that looked just like her.
"I hear you won't go to the dance with my little sister tonight. Also you gave the old 'I'm leaving town excuse'. Now either you go with my sister, or you'll be eatting a knuckle sandwich." He said.
"You get 'im Riche." the girl said.
"Excuse me. I don't think you should be talking to me brother that way." spoke up Nick. Riche looked up and his eyes widened. Then he went into this flirt mode.
"Hey girls, what's your names?" he asked.
"Nicole, and these are my friends: Keavy, Brianna, Hannah, and Alexandera James. Aka A.J."
"All of you are the girls of my dreams. Why don't we go back to my place for a while?" asked Riche
"Riche! What about Kyle?" she whinned.
"What about him? So what will it be ladies."
Kari saw Brian's foot go up and Riche go down to his knees holding himself.
"RUN!" yelled Kari and they were off like a shot and didn't stop until they reached an ally.
"Whoa, thanks for getting me out of that guys."
"No problem. Is that the way we act to girls when we hit on them? YUCK!" said Howie.
"Pretty much. I've learned to block that out. I say we all go to the bus and leave early."
"Now hold on there Mini-me." Nick spoke up, "Just because we had a little bad luck does mean we have to stop. Now come on." He started to walk out of the ally. The others soon followed.
They walked around and went into some stores. Those took a while becuase the guys had to look at everything. Kari just stood there looking at them as they went from rack to rack to rack.
"Guys? Ya think we could move on here?" she asked.
"Hang on a sec. I want to check this out." said Kevin.
"Who knew that the attitude to shopping would change." she said to herself. She looked down at her wrist watch and found that it was 3:15.
"Already? Man, and we didn't even have lunch yet." she said to herself. "Hey guys, time to go back to the bus. It's almost time to leave."
"Aw, come on. I want to shop for a bit more." whinned Nick.
"Man, you guys have really lost it. Remember, concert tomorrow night?"
"Shes right guys, lets head on out." replied Kevin.
They hailed down a cab. Nick climbed into the front and the other squeezed into the back. The cab driver made Nick a little uneasy. He was a big fat guy with no hair and smelled like Icy Hot.
"Where to suger?" he asked Nick.
"The Oakridge hotel on broadway." he replied as fast as he could. He wanted to avoid talking to this guy as much as possible. But that would be hard enough because the guy didn't stop there.
"Did you gals see that concert last night? I heard it was a doozy." he said.
"Uh, yeah. It was great. Cool effects." replied Kevin.
"And what about you little man? Did you go with one of these gals? You look like the type thats a lady killer."
"Yeah. I went with my sister." Kari motioned to Nick.
"What's your names little ladies? So rude of you not to introduce to a gentleman." he laughed.
"Gentleman man butt" Nick thought to himself. "I'm Nikki. This is Brianna, A.J., Keavy, Hannah, and Kyle.
"Ha! Did anyone ever tell ya gals that your names all sound like The Backstreet Boys names?"
"Well... we are their girlfriends." said Brian. You could tell thats not what he meant to say.
"REALLY? Gosh darn it. And I was just about to ask ya'll to a club tonight." he looks over at Kari.
"And what about you?" he asked.
"I'm dating Nick's sister."
Before the man could say anything else, they were at the hotel. They paid him quiekly and were getting out.
"Hey! If one of you dumps those dirt bag boys, look me up O.k?" and he drove off. The guys just looked at each other.
"We are not dirt
bags." remarked A.J. and he began to cry. He guessed it was
the girl hormones,
"Lets just get back on the bus and get out of here. I have had enough with this city." With that, the got on the bus and drove off.
Part four
"What a day. I can't wait until it is over." sighed Brian,
"I know what
you mean. As a guy, nobody noticed that I even existed.
And everyone kept calling me either little man or little guy." said
Kari.
"Well, at least you didn't have a bunch of cheesy redneck looking guys hitting on you all day long. Sheesh! You think after a million years of evolution, they would think of a better line then 'hey baby'" replied Howie.
"Well, thats my world and welcome to it. Good thing we only asked for a day instead of a life time. We would have been in huge trouble then." laughed Kari.
It was getting to be about 11:00 at night. All of them had had a long day and were very tried. One by one the retreated to their bunks, hoping that the next day, they would have returned to there normal selves for good.
Kari was the first to wake up the next morning. She went right for the mirror. All she saw was herself. Her plain, old, not so normal self. She breathed a sigh of relief.
