"Hey." Leigh said dully.
She was upset that Nick hadn't called her for over a week and a half.
"Hi, I was just calling to tell you Nick has been a little out of it and that's why he hasn't called." Brian said.
"What do you mean?" Leigh asked.
"Around the eighth day, he started acting weird, being really quiet and keeping to himself. He's stayed in his room practically the entire trip." Brian said.
Leigh didn't know what to say.
"Maybe he just misses being home. I am sure he'll be fine." he reassured her.
"Yeah, thanks Bri." she said hanging up.
Leigh wondered if Brian was right about Nick. Then she wondered why else he would be acting like that. She shrugged it off and figured she'd find out tomorrow.
BEEP BEEP BEEP
Leigh groaned and smacked the alarm off. She looked at the clock and grumbled when it read 2 am. She loved how BSB's management were keen on early flights. She swung her feet over the side of the bed and dragged herself into the bathroom.
She didn't want to get out of the shower, but after her skin started to wrinkle she did and wrapped a big, fuzzy towel around her and started to dry off.
Thirty minutes later, she and Anna were driving over to pick up Natalie. The girls were heading to the airport to pick up the guys. When they got there, one of the workers told them the flight would be landing in twenty minutes.
On the plane, Nick was looking endlessly through his carry on for gum.
"So are you excited to see Leigh?" Brian asked.
Nick leaned back in his seat, "I guess." he said looking out the window.
Brian sighed and gave up on a conversation with Nick.
Twenty-five minutes later, Brian was greeted by a warm kiss from Anna.
"I missed you so much." she said leaning against his chest.
"I missed you too." he said hugging her tightly.
AJ came off the plane and a smile spread across his face when he saw Natalie walking up to him. Natalie came over and he hugged her.
"Hey, how was your trip?" she asked.
"Good, did you miss me?" he asked with a smirk.
"Cried myself to sleep every night." she said rolling her eyes.
AJ put his arm around her.
"I just love that sense of humor."
Nick walked off the plane slowly. Leigh ran up to him and hugged him tightly.
"I missed you so much." Leigh said going to kiss him.
He turned his head a little and she ended up kissing his cheek instead.
"How was the trip?" she asked trying to ignore the way he was acting.
"Fine." he said.
They all started walking towards baggage claim. On their way to the car, Leigh went to put her hand in his, but he reached up and scratched his head so she couldn't.
Brian noticed and hoped whatever was making Nick act like that, would pass. If things went on like they were, Leigh was bound to get hurt.
