Leigh's eyes opened when she heard Anna's voice. Anna opened the door and sat down on the bed.
"How are you feeling?" Anna asked gently.
Leigh shrugged.
"Leigh, I can't imagine how you feel right now. But, remember a few weeks ago when I thought I should break up with Brian because I was afraid he didn't love me. Well do you remember what you told me? If the day came that we fell out of love, I would heal. You will too." Anna said.
"That's different. We didn't fall out of love. Thanks for trying to cheer me up Anna, but I don't even want to think about it." Leigh said.
Anna sighed and walked out of the room. Leigh drifted off to an unpleasant sleep, then was awakened again by Anna.
"Leigh, someone's here to see you." Anna said lightly.
Leigh groaned and pulled the covers over her head. A minute later she felt the bed shift as someone sat down next to her. She pulled the blanket to see AJ looking worried.
"Hey." he said softly.
"Hi."
There was a silent pause and then Leigh looked up at him.
"I love him so much." she said finally breaking down and crying for the first time.
AJ pulled her tightly into a hug.
"Shh...Leigh, don't worry, everything will work out. I promise." he said.
She sobbed deeply into his shirt. He stroked her hair affectionately.
"I'm so sorry this happened."
"AJ please don't leave me." Leigh cried.
"I won't. I promise I won't." he said.
He laid down next to her, with her still in a hug, while she let out all the tears she had been fighting back.
Hours later, Leigh woke up to AJ's sleeping face. She stretched, and noticed AJ waking up too.
"Hey, how're you feeling?" he asked in the middle of a yawn.
"A little better." she said pausing, "I was just thinking, Nick loves me, I know he does. You don't fall out of love that quickly. There is something more to this." Leigh said.
AJ stood up, "I should be going. But I want you to call me if you need anything."
Leigh nodded and he kissed her on the top of the head.
"Thank you." she said.
AJ smiled and headed off.
Then Leigh went back to bed because she was going to be busy the next day.
